Ive got the packet and ill mail my documents tomorrow, how about you guys?...

Yeah, I wish we knew too. They shouldn't post positions to outside applicants if they won't let us fill them. It's a frustrating process, but hopefully we will hear soon!

i hope my birthday gift is a job. be it a convalescent or hospital or clinic. haha

I too spoke with HR and she told me that this time they had plenty of internal applicants and only very little space left for external applicants. Almost every units had been filled with the internals and this is very sad because if they had that many internals so why they encouraged us (the externals) to apply? I put time and efforts to send the stuff to them. Life is so not fair guys !! At this point, I'm not hoping anymore, just to save myself from such dissapointment.

It is frustrating!!! :crying2: Well, if I am not accepted, I hope they send me the email soon. I thought maybe with the new hospital opening there would be more room! And I saw that last year's class had 68 in the New Grad. That's a lot! I wish we knew how many were internals. Oh well, here's to hoping that one of us gets a phone call...

Last year's class had a large number because they only had one program for the whole year. This year there are two.

Either way....the "external applicants are encouraged to apply" business is wearing thin. I dont see the point in applying to these residencies anymore.

Sorry if I sound bitter, but I put an extraordinary amount of effort into this packet. Theres nothing I hate more than wasting my time. These residency programs are all inside jobs. I am starting to think I will never be an ER nurse until I got work as a cook in the hospital then become an internal applicant. Imagine that, cook BSN ready to apply to you residency!

Positive thoughts! Hopefully we all hear something soon!!! I know it's frustrating, but we just have to be ready to get back on the horse each time. We can do it! We're tough. We're trying to make it through one of the toughest states to find nursing jobs. Let's keep hoping for the best!
