Congratulations to everyone who got calls for interviews! Hopefully that means there is still hope for external candidates. When are your interviews? Also, did all of you apply to the PICU?

Here's hoping the rest of us hear something soon!

I turned my package into HR the last day when it was due. I thought they wont even look at my apps since I turn it in so late, but HR said they will look at all apps as long as it was turn in by the deadline. On that day, HR informed me that they will make calls to applicants beginning of May until the middle of May or so.

I totally agreed with juliehan. So dont loose hope guys/gals. Still have until the middle of May and possibly even further than that to get that call. Be positive and pray. Dont give up hope!!

I did get a call for a preliminary interview also. I did get a chance to ask the recruiter if most positions were taken up with internal applications and she replied no. Hey juliehan, congrats for the interview. BTW, when is your interview and for what department?

I turned my package into HR the last day when it was due. I have not received a call yet, but its great news to hear that they will be contacting people at least until the middle of May. So I still have some time to wait for a phone call. Iwill continue to pray. Its also great news to hear that most positions have not been taken up by internals.

When I called a few weeks ago, a lady told me indeed that they had lots of internals and most position would be offered to them first and that day I felt very very sad because I'm an external applicant. However, it's so good to hear that some of you called and were told differently and let's hope that's the case!

Anyhow guys, what meant to be, meant to be, like my parents said everything will work out the way it should be !

Juliehan info regarding the internal apps is true. Let me clearly correct the information. When I asked HR regarding that info regarding the fact that most open positions are being filled up by the internal appls, she said there are still room for external apps, that's why she was calling me in for an interview. She did not elaborate further. Basically, even though most positions are being filled up by internals, there is still room for external apps.

I got a call this afternoon for an interview, and I'm an external applicant as well. I picked the medical and surgical units. I graduated at the end of last July and got my license at the end of August, and have been working at a preschool since October, making a whopping #13/hour, and living with my parents because I can't afford my own place..... I've applied to a ridiculous amount of new grad jobs in CA and several other states, and this is my first interview in CA. So the moral of the story is be positive!!! Everything happens for a reason, and we're all going to get jobs! Hang in there everyone!!!

I spoke to HR today and she said they are still making phone calls for interviews and were also going to start sending out rejection emails. I have not heard anything either way. :confused: I really want to work in Peds so hope to hear something positive soon.

Wow... I actually have an interview next week! I am preparing myself for standard interview questions. Should I expect any nursing scenario questions? Any advice or examples you can offer?
