Does Anyone know the schedule?

What time does the classes start and when do you do your clinical? Is it 5-8:30pm for the weekend and a long sat for clinical? What are the pre reqs?

This semester I am taking Dev Psy and intermediate Algebra (last math class) yeah!!!. Summer semester I will start my science classes. The summer semester I hope to take Biology and AP1 summer A session, Micro and AP 2 summer B session. I know it will be demanding, but I can do it. Fall 09 I will take Nutrion and Med Term.

That is my plan, hopefully it will work out the way I want it to. Then I can apply for NS January 2010.

Was a fun and busy week for all of us in the SCC Evening/Weekend program so this was the first time I could get on the forum (and my first post to boot!!)

This schedule could/will most likely change some in spring 2010, but this is what it looks like for us:

Monday: Fundamentals of Nursing Class 5:00PM-9:30PM

Tuesday: Pharmacology: 3:00PM-6:00PM or 6:00PM-9:00PM

Wednesday: Fundamentals of Nursing Class and/or Lab: 4:00PM-9:30PM

Thursday: Fundamentals of Nursing Class and/or Lab: 4:00PM-9:30PM

Friday: Open Lab (for you to practice lab skills)

this is until the end of february, at which point we start long term care clinicals, everything is the same except wednesay and thursday where clinicals are from 3:00PM-10:00PM. Then, in April we start Acute Care Clinicals. Monday and Tuesday we still have the classes for fundamentals and pharmacology. However, wednesday we go to the hospital, pick up our clinical assigments and spend the whole day preparing for the next two days. Thursday and Friday are acute care clinicals from 3:00PM-11:00PM.

OH MY:smackingf..... I feel faint right now. Thanks for responding and good luck. I am sure the schedule will change for January 2010 but probably not that much. Wow, my days are going to be very long, considerng I work 8-5 Monday thru Friday. Bring on the coffee:smilecoffeeIlovecof

Hi, I will be applying for HCC weekend/evening program as well as SCC weekend program. I know that SCC's program is 18mths and HCC's is 24mths. One thing about this schedule for folks who work is that the lab class starts at 4pm. Don't you think that makes it difficult to do if you work?

For me, my job is a little flexible. I may be able to come in a little earlier and not take lunch. The school is about 15 minutes from my job. I am hoping it will work out, however, if I have to leave the job I will. I will work as a CNA and use loans to help get by if I need to. The best financial scenerio would be to keep my current job but i will not let the chance go by either. I will be 43 this year and time is ticking, I can't put my life on hold for a job that i am unhappy with. I have already decided If I don't make it in for the evening/ weekend program I will apply to the day program in fall 2010, so I will have to leave my job anyway. No matter what, I will be part of the 2011 graduating class:smokin:

Now, if only I could get motivated to do my Algebra homework, I'll be on my way!

i'm currently in the evening/weekend program in my second, and if you plan on working 40 hours a week, you're going to get a rude awakening. the evening program is demanding and you'll do yourself a disservice if you don't consider it to be a full-time job. i work about 28 hours a week at florida hospital, and i'm stretched thin. best financial scenario for the 18 months you're in school will NOT equal the best learning scenario while you're trying to learn.

i've got friends that started in my class that are now two semester or a year behind me because of full time jobs. trust me on this.

HI there , I am considering registering at Scc for this program also. I am unable to get out of work before 4.30pm and I can't afford not to work wish I could!. Don't want to give up on going for the RN and I am also worried about the pre req classes I am terrible at math!!! Do you have any advice , thanks so much
