Hi Everyone!
I'm a nursing student graduating this fall with a BSN, can't wait! Unfortunatly, my school does not offer any nursing course over the summer, and I'd really like to keep up with my skills and learn as much as I can before my last semester begins. I've been looking for seminars and workshops in the NYC/Long Island area, on things like wound care, IVs, holistic health care, anything really. I've found some, but they are CE for RNs. Are nursing students allowed to attend these? Also, does anyone know of anything that would be helpful? Thanks in advance!

Have you thought of taking a pals of acls course? It would keep you busy and it will look good on a resume.

I agree about ACLS and other certs for your desired field. They certainly won't hurt.
As far as whether or not students may take these classes, call and ask.
Are there any summer preceptorships offered by any schools in the area? I know here in CA Chico State offers one, and many students do that over the summer. It requires traveling, but it's an option, and it's a great way to gain skills.
