Seattle's UWMC/Swedish Nursing Residency 2016

Published

Hello!

I hope I am posting this question in the correct thread/section. I'm a senior nursing student from Cleveland, about to graduate in Jan 2016. I am looking extremely hard to find a nurse residency in the Seattle area. I was confused about UW's nursing residency program. It seems that it's listed as a "job posting" rather than a typical application. For example, UCLA's RN Residency program is very clear. Applications are due Oct 5-11 and interview invites sent out in November and you will hear back if you are accepted in December.

I'm just a bit confused about UW's program and how it works.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew if Swedish's Residency program dates are only in July, August and November? Will I have to wait that long and go on without a job (once I pass my NCLEX) until July?

Thank you for taking time to read this! Any information would be extremely helpful!

Hello xd94! congratulations on your recent interview. I wish I can share tips for you but I'm still waiting for my panel interview. The nurse recruiter also assured me that she'll definitely move me for my panel interview so I'm very excited and nervous for it. May I know what state you're from and your preferred unit?

hi emersonarchie! i am in cali and and my top choices are NICU and peds. she said she will try to get me somewhere in my preferrred units. when did you have your phone interview and what units did you choose? i hope we get called for panel interviews soon!!

Hello xd94,

My interview was three weeks ago but the recruiter assured me that I should be getting a call sometime in August. She told me that the next interview will either be a phone interview or skype since I'm from out of state. My preferred units were Med Surg and Psych. Hoping we get called for panel interviews soon. I'm from Hawaii by the way. Let's keep each other posted if we heard anything. Thank you.

@emersonarchie yes definitely! I will keep you updated when I hear from them :)

Hello everyone,

I had a interview about 2 1/2 weeks ago. It wasn't my best, but she assured me she was forwarding along my information to my preferred units (L&D, ED, ICU). She said it could be a couple weeks, she wasn't positive, until I heard anything about a second interview. Has anyone heard anything back yet?

I actually just got an email for a second interview. Do you know if can technically interview for our first and second choice? Or do we generally just get interviewed for one unit/location?

Hello nsh42! May I know when did u receive an email regarding for a second interview? and did it tell u the specific unit for the interview?

Hey guys! So finally after waiting for awhile, I'll have a panel interview next week!! Nervous and excited!
