Seattle University (Seattle U) BSN Fall 2021

Published

Hi everyone, it might be a little early but I wanted to start a forum for SU's 2021 BSN applicants! I'm applying as a transfer student from a community college in California. I'm curious about everyone else's experience as a pre-nursing student and the schools they plan on applying to.

I've yet to complete my organic Chemistry course (my school doesn't offer one course with both organic and inorganic) and my pre-calculus course to satisfy the prerequisites. Right now I'm trying to find volunteer work, but with the pandemic, there's not much out there.

Feel free to share anything, I'm super curious about everyone's stats!

Hi Elizabeth,

Congratulations! Are you in traditional student or transfer student?

I am a senior in high school but have been completing my nursing school prerequisites through the Running Start program (dual enrollment). I will graduate high school this year, June 2021, and be considered a freshman in college. Still, with all of my dual enrollment courses (I will have a completed associate's degree, which includes all the nursing prerequisites), I will academically be considered at a junior status. I am considered a traditional student but with entry into the two-year nursing (transfer) cohort starting fall 2021.

Congratulations Elizabeth! Running start was a smart move because you have your pre-requisites finished and now you are in the program. I can’t imagine starting nursing school at such a young age. But it sounds like you got the hang out it.

Congrats!! I always wish I would have been more academically involved when I was younger. I’m 28 now and I kick myself for it, but lesson learned I suppose. Congrats again on your acceptance!! You should feel proud, you deserve it.

@Elizabeth Grace Congratulations on your admission to the program and for your upcoming high school graduation. You will do great in the program with that level of dedication and commitment.

Congratulation @Elizabeth Grace, how exciting!! For us transfers, it's now the month we get our admission updates!! I'm thinking we'll get an update in 2-3 weeks!

has any transfer students hear anything yet? I know the ANIP program has already sent out the results. Don't know when will BSN transfer students hear their results. I'm so nervous!

I haven’t heard anything yet. The wait is killing me. Do you know how many applicants they will accept this year?

@AnhtonNo, I don't. But from previous posts, it seems like around 80-86? if I'm not remembering that wrong.

Hey everyone,

I've done some detective work from last several years post this week! Each year seems to be really consistent with their interview dates and their admission decision dates! Interviews are held mid/late February and interviews go out around THREE weeks from the last interview usually around March 24-26 (depending where the calendar year is). However, this year is different because we had our interviews early/mid February (probably because they were all conveniently virtual)! If it's consistent with the last several years information, three weeks form the last interview is THIS Friday, March 12th!!

With that being said, I think there are some variables to consider. If they send out admission decisions by March 12th, I don't know if that gives us enough time to wait for UW decision as it comes out mid April (correct me if I'm wrong). If I remember correctly, we have 30 days to accept admissions decisions from SU. So, I'm not sure if they will take that into consideration. Also, having interviews earlier could allow them more time for the decision process this year. It's hard to say.

As @mlang mentioned, I think we will definitely hear back by March 19th! My guess is any day from the 12th - 19th!!

Anyone know how they send out decisions? Email, phone call, snail mail?
