Seattle University (Seattle U) BSN Fall 2021

Published

Hi everyone, it might be a little early but I wanted to start a forum for SU's 2021 BSN applicants! I'm applying as a transfer student from a community college in California. I'm curious about everyone else's experience as a pre-nursing student and the schools they plan on applying to.

I've yet to complete my organic Chemistry course (my school doesn't offer one course with both organic and inorganic) and my pre-calculus course to satisfy the prerequisites. Right now I'm trying to find volunteer work, but with the pandemic, there's not much out there.

Feel free to share anything, I'm super curious about everyone's stats!

@LJ15 My friend shes a running start student and she already got her letter back, but she didn't get in. So do they look at the people who are applying for first-year at Seattle U then everyone else?

I'm not sure! The transfer cohort is separate so that might be why, you might be right. I hope we hear sooner rather than later but the info I got from the website.

Hey all! I remember commenting on last year's thread for SU 2022, and this platform is definitely helpful once everything gets rolling (deadlines, interviews, etc). I was accepted into the SU BSN program and I just wanted to offer assistance with anything! I can look over resumes, essays, etc. If you have any questions you can tag me on here!

HEY, I'm applying as a post-bacc student. I applied to another school as well but didn't get in. Now I'm feeling not very confident because I thought my GPA and experience are all fine. I've been working as a phlebotomist for over 2 years and my prerequisite GPA is 3.78. I didn't have much volunteer experience since I've only been in the US for 3 years, and I was working and studying the whole time. But right now, I feel like I don't look like a competitive applicant. I don't know if I should expect much from SU's result.

Hey! I also applied to the another school as a post bacc and didn’t get in. I totally relate about not feeling like a competitive applicant since I don’t have my CNA and instead work in home-health care with adults in my community. Your experience as a phlebotomist is awesome and so are you grades- I’m sure you’ll get in to SU!

Thank you for encouraging me:)  it is really frustrating because we couldn't find out what or where is not good enough. I don't have CNA either. I think working with adults at home-health is a good in-patient care experience. Good luck with your application!

First-year people are more likely to get prioritized then transfers because they most likely get direct admission into the nursing program. Therefore, don't have to apply to the nursing program again.

I applied to SU as a transfer last year with no healthcare experience and got an interview spot and got waitlisted. I was nervous during my interview but they try to make it laid back. This year, I decided to get my CNA training and volunteer with MRC, a non-profit, and a remote location. My overall GPA was 3.8 but my A&P is questionable.

Hey all! just wanted to hop on here as I relied on this forum a lot last year! I’m a transfer nursing student for the ‘22 cohort. I see there were concerns with specific healthcare experience and I want to let you guys know that they really do look at you and your application from a holistic perspective. I only had some volunteer experience in a hospital and I got in! If you guys have any other questions I’m open to answering!
