Seattle University DNP 2020 Cohort (RN or APNI)

Updated:   Published

I didn't see any content here on Allnurses regarding the 2020 cohort for Seattle University's APNI-DNP program so I will start one here. Anyone else applying?

I will be applying for 2020 APNI! Specifically the psych track.

@rachel.leone awesome! thanks for joining this thread! I'm applying to the Adult-Gero track. I have everything done except for the letter of intent, how long is yours (if you've completed it already)?

@kmd1005 I am still working on a few things but my letter is just about done, mine is 2.5 pages single spaced! The info session stated 2-3 pages, but didn't clarify single or double spacing.

Awesome, thanks for the info @rachel.leone! i attended an info session a while back but for whatever reason did not get the details on the letter of intent while i was there. thanks again!

There is a virtual information session coming up next month to specifically discuss the DNP/APNI application process for those who are currently applying for next year's cohort, I hope they'll answer some questions on the essays and other things (i.e. graduation rate, nclex, etc.) that other applications are probably curious about. ?

I will be joining that as well! (although I did find out that the statement needs to be 12 point, double spaced, 2-3 pages). Needless to say I have to shorten mine!

@rachel.leone awesome! hopefully all of our concerns/questions will be addressed and thanks for the details on the statement! needless to say I too need to revise mine :)

It's nice to have someone to keep in touch with throughout! I've heard its a pretty long process..

it is, and this is supposed to be a summer start too! :( are you in the Washington state area? I'm in California

Hi!

I'm applying for the 2020 APNI psych track too. I'm still working on my Letter of Intent and will definitely need to cut mine down. I'm a wordy person!
Does anyone have a Master's degree? I had an info session but I'm still confused as to how they calculate G.P.A. if you have one. It says online that they count your last 60 credits if semester-based or 90 credits as quarter-based but I also heard conflicting information about how they do three separate G.P.A. calculations. I'll be attending the session tomorrow too so hopefully it will be made clearer!

I missed the info session due to my boss not allowing me to step away from work today for the full hour! I am super bummed, but I feel pretty well prepared overall. Just have to tackle my statement and make some final touches! Did you get clarity on your questions?

@kmd1005 I am in the Washington area yes! Not super excited about summer start but I'll be happy to be in the program it wont matter at that point!

I have been told I can expect February for first word on interviews, did you guys hear the same?
