I didn't see any content here on Allnurses regarding the 2020 cohort for Seattle University's APNI-DNP program so I will start one here. Anyone else applying?
Hello,
I was waitlisted last year. I rolled my application over to this upcoming cycle. Did anyone else do the same? I have had very little contact from SU this time around, making the process even more nerve-racking! If anyone has any experience with reapplying as a waitlisted applicant, I would love to hear about it. I feel less confident this time around simply due to the lack of communication.
Thank you!

It will be quiet from SU until the application deadline. They start looking at applications for everyone at the same time, so even if you rolled over your application in June 2020, they won't look at it again before January 2021. The nurse-midwifery program seems to start sending out invitations to interview towards the end of January/beginning of February, and then turnaround time between invite and interview can be pretty fast. If you do get the chance to interview, do not expect to hear from them before the first week of March at the earliest.
I encourage you to keep trying if this is your passion! Seattle U very much looks at the whole person when determining who to accept. Know your story. Know why you want to be a midwife. Be courageous and kind.
@CNMh0peful thank you so much for that response! I am doing my best to use my phlebotomy to gain more experience and plan to shadow/volunteer if I do not get in this year.
I have a few questions on paying for the program, should I get in. I am very financially needy so I assume I will get need based scholarships. Did anyone successfully apply to the HRSA nurse corps program to pay for the program? Also, did anyone find that SU helped those admitted find a way to afford the program? I was admitted to an ABSN program a few years back but ended up giving away my seat due to finances, I hope that will not be the case again!
Thanks again!
Hi everyone,
I applied for the 2021 cycle I just received a rejection ? I'm a bit confused because I thought I did well on my interview and my interviewers even told me they thought I was outstanding. Did this happen to anyone last year? I couldn't find any posts about rejections. Thanks in advance!

@Peony79Just be honest and real in your statement because they want to know you as a person and why you want to go to Seattle university for your advanced practice nursing degree.
