Seattle University DNP 2020 Cohort (RN or APNI)

Updated:   Published

I didn't see any content here on Allnurses regarding the 2020 cohort for Seattle University's APNI-DNP program so I will start one here. Anyone else applying?

I am wondering if anyone has not yet heard back from Seattle U regarding an admission decision. I applied after the deadline as the admissions office said they would still consider my application. I have not heard anything yet, and my application status still says “submitted”. When the faculty was reviewing your application, did your application status change on the website? I know things are a bit stressed in Seattle right now, and I am hesitant to call to ask when I might hear an update since I applied after the deadline. I figured I’d call in April if I still have not heard anything...

I was accepted into the APNI-FNP program. The application portal showed submitted for me until the day I got accepted. When the day came that I got accepted, there was a new dialogue at the top of the page that said there was an update to my application. The only time they reached out to me during the entire application process was to schedule an interview date. I hope this helps!

Gave up my spot for PMHNP. Hope another student can utilize it! Best of luck everyone moving forward.

Hello everyone!

I'm in the AG-Acute Care Track. I was curious if there is anyone else in that group. It also looks like all tracks get started off together. Is there a facebook group? Thanks!

Also, is anyone aware of what textbooks are required for the Summer quarter? Thanks!

This is the facebook group link for the 2020 APNI-NP cohort:

Hi Grey! There is a group on facebook "SeattleU APNI 2020 Cohort" where you can ask your questions. CONGRATS!

Hey guys does anyone know if there is a prefered GPA for acceptance into the APRNI-FNP program. My last two year GPA is a 3.0 with a pre-req GPA of a 3.2. I am assuming this is too low, but I do have over 5,000 working hours in the medical profession as a medical assistant/technician with a Chemistry minor and a Bachelors of Science.

Also I wouldn't submit until closer to December am I too late as well?

I am applying for the APNI program for 2021 and was wondering how many pages everyone's resume was?

hey everyone! For those of you who did attend the APNI and have to dorm there, I calculated it would cost 200k for the whole 2 years ? How were you guys able to afford it?

Hi everyone! I'm in the APNI program now and I just saw these messages! I hope you're all doing well and staying safe!

@ttrapalis give it a shot, they do look at each application holistically ? they really do look at everything, not just your grades. Also I would strongly recommend reaching out to the admissions team and always look at the website to ensure you are staying ahead on the application deadlines! Last year it was Dec 1 as the deadline but that date can always change.

@KAS212 your resume length really all depends on you and your related experience, but I tried to keep mine under 2 pages. I would certainly recommend showcasing what is relevant and important to your application, but again that is up to what you want the admissions team to know about you.

@aspiring NP keep in mind financial aid is offered and each financial aid package will vary for each student depending on their circumstances some may live with other students, some live with friends or relatives, etc. this is a graduate school program so considerable costs are expected.

Good luck to all of you if you are applying for next year's cohort!

First of all, thank you for starting this thread. I have read through the replies and found them very helpful and encouraging.

I am seeking a little help on my letter of intent and what they are looking for?

Thank you
