I didn't find any threads on Seattle University BSN for Fall 2014; just wanted to know who else is applying! This is my first time applying to nursing schools, planning to apply for UW and SPU as well; if those don't work, I'll probably try for Shoreline CC. If you guys don't mind me asking, what experiences, GPAs, etc. do you guys have? I would like see if I am even competitive...

GPA: 3.76 (finishing up OChem, Math, and English to recieve my Transfer Degree from Bellevue College)

Volunteer: UW Medical Center as an escort and ICU assistant, about 300 hours

Work: worked at Tullys Coffee (4 years), Fred Hutchinson CRC (2 years), currently working as a CNA at Seattle Children Hospital (working full-time, started in Feb 2013)

Certificates: Certified Nursing assistant, Healthcare provider CPR, First Aid, HIV/AIDS education

I'm planning to apply there!

Hey, I got accepted there for fall 2013. My advice is when you're writing your essay make sure you talk about the health care experience you've done, reiterate why SU is a good school by repeating some of their qualities on their website and make sure to describe a moment with imagery that inspire you to become a nurse.

Oh and apparently they like people who've got most of their science prereqs done.

Hey thanks for the advice, seriously some really helpful tips; I'm actually working on my essay right now! It seems like as a transfer student they only require one essay huh? Compared to UW which is about 2-3 and SPU being 3...blahhh

I applied this week. Hopefully I hear good news!

Try the Washington page :) good luck everyone

I applied, prerequisites gpa 3.5. 2200 hours as a LPN. 40 hrs volunteer. Finishing up 2 classes.

I applied too, best wishes everyone!

I applied for the Fall entry bsn program as well. Does anyone know around when we should be expecting decisions? I think I recall someone mentioning around March??

Best of luck to everyone!

yea usually end of march! - march 30th

Thank you! This is probably a silly question, but in general, can anyone comment on how many students the program usually accepts, or how difficult it is to get into the program (this is my first time applying to seattle u).
