Seattle University APNI 2015

U.S.A. Washington

Well, I know it's early.

Anyone applying for 2015 start?!?

Lumen4, you can send anything in any order as long as it all gets in before the deadline!

I have not yet submitted my application, but I have already submitted all transcripts and GRE scores. There is a handy "app tracker" on the application website that notifies you when things have been received.

My husband is currently looking over my statement and making his critiques, will definitely want some others to look over it as well.

It helps so much to know I'm not the only one stressing over all this!

Also - clarification on the length of the letter of intent. I saw a couple pages back they said "two pages double spaced." I went to an information session last week and asked if it had to be double spaced and she said no, maybe like 1.5 or even a little smaller... That's just what I heard in person. I think at the end of the day being as to the point as possible is the way to go but I just wanted to throw what I heard out there...

Thank you! I will have to get my transcripts sent in soon. I already sent to NCAS for other apps and had a super quick turnaround!

I'm sure I have this written somewhere but is SU one of the schools that wants ALL of our undergrad transcripts, regardless if we got a degree or not? I took NURS100 (the CNA class) at a community college and I'm not sure if I should send that transcript in too.

Edit: did you meet with the head of the APNI program? She (I guess we can't say names on here) led the info session on 10/1 and she told us max 2 pages double spaced. Very strange! I think I may stick with double space, unless I really get desperate :)

Omg, sorry I have so many questions! I just looked at the online application and it says that they want our transcript from the last 90 credits we took. Is there a way to order your transcript that way? Or we just send it in like "normal"?

Oh wow... No I did not meet with that person... Pretty sure the information session I went to was led by someone else. I will definitely have to cut some information out of my letter now! Thanks for the heads up...

Also, regarding transcripts. I just sent all of mine like normal.

I'm pretty sure that they add the GPA up themselves.. don't quote me on that. But my "last 90 credits" are all over the place considering I have been to three different community college since I graduated from undergrad.

Also, as long as its a good grade I feel like sending it in shouldn't hurt one bit!

Thanks! I think I will just send it in, I don't really know how I would alter it for SU. I think I will send in the other transcript too because it was 8 credits and I got an A! haha ;)

Yeah, the lady who led the session (APNI Coordinator) told us that she would be reading all of the essays, in addition to other faculty. So she will be reading them for sure, and she said double spaced.

Does anyone know what I should do in terms of ordering a transcript if I am currently taking prereq class this quarter? Should I go ahead and send in the transcript now without it showing completion of the current prereq class I am taking? Or should I submit it after this quarter is finished? I think I read somewhere that it's ok to have the transcript sent in upon completion of the fall quarter but I can't be sure. Anyone else with this dilemma?

I was also thinking about that. I was planning to call and ask what they'd like me to do.

Ok, I just called them. They said to go ahead and submit an official transcript now and once the quarter is done we should submitted a second official transcript. Both transcripts will show up in our file. Hope this helps!

Thanks! That's kind of annoying though, I don't want to pay twice darn it haha

Oh my goodness for the essay, I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna do two pages doubled-spaced. A page and a half is pretty restrictive in my opinion!!! It's like I won't even be able to write anything. I feel like if they were really that strict on the personal statement they would have explicitly stated it in the prompt. The other schools I'm applying for have done this. If they don't I assume you can write as much as you want.

Maybe they said 2 pages as guidance for how much you should write. I've heard 3 pages is the max if they don't give a limit for personal statements. So I would assume 2 pages is a good length.

Alright guys - my application is officially submitted. Minus my references but that is out of my control.

Now, let the waiting game begin!
