I am applying for the CNM track and haven been working on pre-reqs for the last year. Which track are you applying for?
FNP! So excited to get all this started :)
Me too. I'm a little nervous after reading all of the past year's forums about how competitive it is. I didn't do so great (3.1) in my Chemistry Pre-req. Are you applying any where else? I'm hoping to stay in the Seattle area.

Not applying for 2015 start, but hoping to apply to 2016 start. I'll be watching this thread for any advice from those going through the application process.
I will be applying to UW and PLU as well. What about you?
Yeah, the program is definitely competitive. I don't think that chemistry grade will hurt you as long as all your other grades are high.
What is your background? Why CNM?
Have you started the application yet?
I have not started the application yet. I have a MA in International Development and Global Health and focused all my studies on maternal and child health and I did Peace Corps in Central America where I worked at a maternity center. From my past experiences here and abroad in health education, I've become very passionate about women's health and more motivated to become a health practitioner myself.
I'm also applying to UW's absn program and maybe to PLU's. I really really want Seattle U's since its the direct only mid-midwifery track. What is your background?
Wow! Your background is extremely impressive! I definitely wouldn't be worried about your chemistry grade, your background and experience make you an extremely competitive applicant.
I got my BS in Public Health and originally wanted to get my MPH in Global Health, but then I interned at a non-profit for a while and did some other volunteering and realized that I wanted to have more interaction with individuals. I wanted to verify that this was what I really wanted so I got a job at a hospital and immediately fell in love with everything about it.
I want FNP because I am still extremely interested in global health, I just want to play a different role than I originally thought. I would love to be an FNP and work with Doctor's without borders. But ultimately, my goal is to be an NP for underserved populations of all kinds. I am extremely excited about SU because I feel as though their values lines up perfectly with mine.
I have two prerequisites left to finish. Micro and the Math 110.
I am going to apply for UW absn as well, but I have 4 prerequisites left to finish for their program and I feel like that puts me at a disadvantage.
I'm considering getting CNA certified also. Have you heard or seen on any of the previous year's forums if that helps for Seattle U admission?
It is not required, but in my personal opinion ANYTHING helps.
It definitely won't hurt you.
