Seattle University -- APNI 2011

Published

I've been a reader of these message boards for some time and thought I'd finally start participating. I didn't see a thread for the SU APNI 2011 application process, so I thought that as the deadline is this week I would start a thread and see how everyone's process went. I'm interested in the primary care np track myself.

I am currently taking my microbiology prereq. and there is a woman in my class who did get an interview for that specific track...I would call SU and ask admissions about this. Did you ever receive a letter stating that they had received all of your application materials, or stating that they had not received some of your application materials? I'm just wondering if they have contacted you at all??? If not, then you should probably call just to check on what's happening...

Hi banana44,

I applied for the FNP program, and my status just changed this afternoon to "your admission decision has been mailed"

So nervous!!

Has anybody else from the FNP track seen a change in their status? Mine is still the same!! :redbeathe

My status remains the same: ".....as soon as possible." The only thing I've really learned by checking my application status ad nauseum is how tell the difference between the number "0" and the letter "O" in the image verification box. :-)

I honestly think that, at this point, they've mailed all of them out, or will mail the stack of them in the next day or two and that the "status" is probably somewhat arbitrary. Maybe the person entering them hit the "sent" button instead of the "ASAP" button for some applicants.

I'm searching for any clue to help me anticipate what size of package comes in the mail, and its a good way to blow off some nervous energy. At the end of the day though, I guess we'll only really know when we read the mail. And it should happen soon! I really hope that everyone gets the letter that they have worked so hard to get, and hope that I'm lucky enough to be in the cohort in June. :-)

well the message we all got really doesnt matter, becuase mine used to say "...has been sent" and today changed to ASAP. I think they regretted typing "has been sent" after all the calls about where the letters are. This leads me to believe they have either just been sent or will be the next couple days. So frustrating when I live so close to Seattle and know it only should take a day or two to get here.... torture. Anyone else's life revolving around thier mailbox lol!

I live 3,000 miles away so it will take the mail a bit longer to get here. You all will find out well before I do.

Yeah, if I were them I would send them all out and then change the status a couple of days later. Then, it would be "surprise! here's your letter" without everyone expecting it to come. Would be waaay simpler. I appreciate the technology that keeps us up to date (other schools I've applied to give you zero info until you get the letter....and no interview process either, which is strange) but it almost adds to the anxiety to be able to know what's going on so quickly.

Mine still says that my application is now complete and waiting for my intended program to review. When I called Grad Admissions, the guy told me that they had not updated any admission status for FNP, but I believe someone posted today that theirs changed to "admission decision mailed." So frustrating because the information are so contradictory. He further added that admission status updates takes awhile and it doesn't necessary correspond to what is actually happening.

I just hope to hear some good news SOON! If not, I'm going to have to mail in my deposit to APU.

Yeah, mine changed yesterday... I was checking it often, so it probably changed sometime between 10am and noon. My last name is at the beginning of the alphabet so maybe that has something to do with it??

I though someone said that the admissions office said they sent all of them out yesterday... that would be nice, since all of us locals would know by Saturday! And out-of-towners by the beginning of next week. But I guess it's all just speculation at this point. The suspense is killing me!!

Good luck everyone!!

Just talked to admissions because I'm trying to figure out how to visit if I'm accepted (My spring break starts next week and its the only time I could visit...air fare is going to be pricey at this point).

I was hoping for a little shred of information, as if I'm accepted I would need to go to Nashville (accepted to Vanderbilt's program) and Seattle over break and she said letters went out over the past few days and more will be sent out over the next...so anytime now!!!! Darn living in Connecticut!!

Such different information every time anyone calls.... ...

Maybe they're just doing it to **** with us ;)

I can see them all sitting around in the graduate admissions office saying, "Ok, Larry, you're going to tell them they've been sent, Susan, you're 'they're still working on it' and Jim, well, you tell 'em anything. Keep 'em on their toes!"

Best of luck waiting!

bahhh ha ha ha! sure seems that way!
