Seattle University APNI 2019 Applicant Questions?

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

Hi All,

I remember when I was applying to Seattle U's APNI (Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion) program a couple of years ago there was no information for me out there! So I wanted to circle back and answer any questions applicants or potential applicants might have. I finished the APNI portion last spring and now am in the first year of the primary care FNP/AGNP track.

Good luck to all.

Hi, I just got an email this afternoon inviting me to an interview monday from off of the waitlist for FNP. Does anyone have any helpful tips for the interview process at SU?

That's great! The interviewers are very nice - be prepared to be very specific about your goals (short term and long term) and why you are interested in the program you applied to.

I was offered admission to Midwifery from the waitlist today. :) Oz called me earlier this afternoon to let me know.

I would say make sure you know how your life and work experience is relevant to your potential to be in the FNP track. People are correct that you should research the website and know your stuff about the school. That being said, I would also warn against over preparing and memorizing a bunch of answers. If you're too reheorificed your responses are going to sound canned and robotic. The questions they ask are quite well thought out. You never know what you're going to get!

Good luck, hope you get in!

Thank you all for your help!

Is there is known dresscode, I remember reading business causal, but I cannot find it again.

I interviewed in early February and was waitlisted, just got off. ? I actually have already accepted at Emory University but now everything is up in the air.

Thank you. Also congratulations again! That is going to be a hard decision to make. ?

I have a question for current students. Is there anything you wish you would have done to prepare yourself to start classes? Also, do you have any suggestions on supplies, for school or clinicals, that would be helpful to have? Thanks!
