Seattle U - APNI 2012

Published

Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).

Sunshinelov3r, I'm in a similar position. I asked PLU for an extension to more fully consider the SU program, but they only offered me until March 1st to decide. Which SU tract are you considering? Have you had a chance to visit PLU/talk to students or administrators there? I visited last week and was really impressed by how kind and welcoming everyone was.

I called grad admissions at SU, suspecting that they've run into this issue in years past, and they suggested that I request an extension with PLU. I'm hoping that if I get offered an interview, I will be able to schedule it before the end of the month and get a better idea of how competitive I am for FNP program.

Oh luluj, I wish I had that problem! ;)

I think if I was you I would tell SU at your interview (without seeming pushy) that you have been accepted to PLU and need to tell them by March 1st. When setting up the interview they will hopefully allow you to get yours done earlier, that way the staff are aware of your situation and if they really want you they would make an effort to ensure you received an acceptance in time. If it was me and I had an acceptance in the bag, I probably would not wait for SU past March 1st because overall these programs are so competitive that I have been told if you get into an immersion program and it is a program that suits your needs then go for it! Congrats on your acceptance to PLU, it must feel good to have an acceptance under your belt.

Just so you guys know, I'm at Macy's and the suits are 50% off and are very very affordable. I'm at the Bellevue square store but I'm guessing all stores will be the same.

Wow I did not even think that you could ask PLU for an extension. I put in my deposit for PLU already just so I wouldn't lose my spot.

I applied for SU's FNP track and haven't gotten any invite for an interview either. I haven't visit PLU recently, but I visit campus way back when I was applying for my undergrad. The campus is nice and I love how the administrators there are way more friendly than those at SU. When I contact PLU, I feel like the people there care about their students than the people at SU does. I don't have very good experiences with people at SU. They always seem so busy and answer in like one sentence.

I have been emailing two current students of the the ELMSN program at PLU. How about you? Did you request to get connected to any current students?

Congrats!!! I am not going to give up hope

I am FNP and just got an interview!!! Anyone else? :-))))

Congrats LEAH... wow! Guess SU is getting all caught up now.

Thanks!...I was kinda giving up hope...excited to see good news from other FNP applicants too :-) Congrats to you on your interview as well!! Here we go!

AGNP interview notice sent ]Saturday, February 11, 2012 3:02 PM

Went searching for information to prepare for the interview and found this site.

Appreciate the collaboration and thanks to Calinca for becoming the moderator.

Best of luck to everyone sharing this journey.

I got this email around 5:30pm california time, I'm FNP track for SU. Guess i have an interview, but not sure when!(":

"Thank you for your on-going interest in graduate study at Seattle University. Last month I sent you an e-mail indicating the expected timeline for our Master of Science in Nursing file review, interviews and decisions. While we are a few days later than expected on that original timeline, the additional time was critical for us to give your application the attention it deserved. Because of the strength of your credentials, you are being invited to interview with program faculty as the next phase in the process. You will be contacted later this week about the specifics and to arrange for a time to interview either in late February or early March.

We will be in touch with you again in a few days. Enjoy your evening!"
