Seattle U - APNI 2012

Published

Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).

Don't lose hope, Barbaraleev! Maybe you can call the grad office? I wonder if they'd tell us.

Barbaraleev, can you call the grad office, like Overtone said? I remember last year some people called and were able to get answers over the phone. Good luck and don't lose hope!

first time posting on here... guess I thought it was time to interact! FNP track and no email yet. still holding out though. have 2 more classes of prereqs so perhaps I'll be morecompetitive next year if I don't get into a program this year! congrats to all who have interviews and good luck!

Welcome habitus. Hang in there - FNP track has a very large pool of applicants, so it seems they don't send the invitations all in one day. I still have prereqs to do too, so, I don't think this could necessarily be a distraction for the committee, so if you allow me to suggest: do something unique and out-of-the-box before the next rounds of applications. I know I will if I don't get in!

I'm only saying this to remind everyone here (including myself) that academics are only a part, and I would go as far as saying that is not the largest part in your admission. I will be able to say better after the interviews if my suspicions are confirmed.

Medical schools are always trying to find the unique in you - I would believe the NP program would sometimes have the same tendencies. Everybody here has good grades, good GRE - what's going to make them pick US instead is how our life story corroborates with what you want to do. Go help a midwife in Guatemala, go alfabetize adults or teach english to Mexicans in Yakima (sorry, I don't know if you're from here). I dont know, these are only my suggestions and ideas that I have been collecting throughout the years as I have been researching graduate school.

Good luck to you, I hope you hear back soon with good news!

I received an invitation to interview last night! I applied to FNP. Thanks for posting everyone, it has kept me going through this stressful waiting period. Goodluck in your interviews and keep posting updates!

Hi everyone! Congrats to those who have already received an interview invitation! I applied for AGNP... I haven't heard anything back yet. =[

I replied to Janet on the 13th, telling her that I hadn't heard anything either way... No response. I'll try calling today, as I want to know for sure if it's a no. Hope not, though!!

Anyone else still waiting?

I applied for FNP and haven't heard anything yet. I was kind of on the fence between Seattle and Marquette. However, I was accepted to Marquette for acute care and they want a deposit by Feb 28th, so I guess I'm going there!

Hi All,I'm wondering if any candidate that has NOT yet received an invitation to interview has also seen their online status change on the SU website (to admission decision has been mailed or the like)? I ask because I'm anxious to know if they are still considering my application or should I put serious effort into my plan B...

Mine still says "ready for review" and I haven't been contacted. I called a couple numbers provided on the Seattle U website and got no answer, then I was transferred to Tammi Jaz so I followed her instructions to send an email. Hopefully I'll hear back soon! I'm super anxious!!!

Of course I hope it's a "yes," but like you, Angles360, I want to be able to start looking more into my plan B if it's a "no."

Fingers crossed!! =]

yeah mine still says "under review". I was told by someone in the grad admissions office that we'll all hear one way or the other this week, but I just wanted a yes or no! seems like they are still reviewing?

My status has not changed either..not sure what is going on but it sure feels depressing! I am convinced that I need to do plan B but I am not ready to accept that yet.

wpolorocker- my cousin is in that program, congrats!

Hey All- I decided to attend another program for WHNP, so that's one interview candidate out of the way for you future-CNMs! Good luck with the interviews! I'm so happy that I didn't have to interview for my program :) Sooo stressful. haha
