Seattle U APNI - 2010 Entry

Published

I was just wondering if anyone out there applied for Seattle U's APNI program. I thought I'd start a thread because it doesn't look like there is one, yet.

I think we're supposed to hear about interviews sometime soon. Has anyone gotten word, yet?

Where all these sent out at the same time you think? I'm still waiting here in the Midwest with no word. ahhh

Yes, hollownurse I think they were because I'm way South and got mine yesterday.

I live in Indiana and am just awaiting something, either rejection or acceptance, I'm not sure. I had a good vibe but now am not sure as to my calculation letter would be sent out on last Ths. I live in a small town in Indiana and actually use the other town post office so maybe the mail is just slow. Where are you living? Congrats by the way!!!

Has anybody who interviewed after February 17th been accepted yet? I'm trying to gauge when I should be checking my mailbox more frequently. I'm assuming they are going through the applicants chronologically by interview date, but I could be wrong.

Congrats to all of you that have been accepted so far.

I interviewed on the 5th of February but they wanted to talk to my again on the 17th but then said I did a good job that they don't want to talk to me again so I hope that is good news. I live in Indiana in small town and haven't heard anything yet. Id assume they sent them out at the same time. Who knows. Thanks

Well, I hope they didn't send them all out at once because I live in Seattle and that would be bad news for me since I haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully we hear either way soon so we can stop thinking about getting in or not. Good luck!

Heads up Ladies and Gents.

I spoke with Kathy Carr today and she said that the woman in charge of making the final decisions for the FNP track (Marilee Jensen) is out sick. So no decisions are going to be made today. Just to give you a bit of calm if you're freaking out like I am. Lots of people at Seattle U are sick right now.

Thanks for the info JSBH. I guess that means that not all the acceptances have been sent out yet, at least, for the FNP track which I applied to as well. There's still hope =]!

Oh, they definitely aren't finished. There are a lot of "decisions" that haven't been made, according to Kathy. Basically, Marilee has to review the files from all of our interviewers and decide who gets in. I think that's why we're seeing so many Psych people getting acceptances...different person is in charge of that.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for all of the posts, it is helpful/scary:) I interviewed a couple of weeks ago originally for the FNP track but when I was there, I met with a woman from the midwife track because I for the most part wrote my personal statement about women's health concerns. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has heard from the Midwife track yet? I live in California and have been anxiously checking the mail and every time I read the posts about acceptances, although I am so excited for everyone, my heart drops a little bit. Sigh. Anyway, let me know when you guys hear more. Thanks!

Take care

QWERTY

Hi everyone!

I've been actually following this board for a few days, but had to get an account set up.

If it helps anyone, I interviewed on Feb. 12th and found out last Friday through the mail of my acceptance to the FNP track.

Seattle University has been my top choice for awhile, over UW and PLU--due to program philosophy and the quality of the faculty. If you want to talk comparison amongst these programs, I'd be more than happy to give my two cents.

I was born and raised in Seattle and wanted to stay here--so if you're from out of town feel free to ask me any questions!

Congrats and good luck to you all!

Thanks for the input. I have written a couple of Emails just asking some questions but you covered it. I actually interviewed with Dr Jensen so I hope I hear good news from her once she is recovered. Good luck to all and I've got one interview to go tomorrow.
