Hey everyone! I applied for Seattle's 2016 fall cohort but I am a transfer student and am not sure how good my chances are of getting in...Does anyone know how many transfer students are usually accepted every year? Or what the average GPA of transfer students is?
Also, what do I need to know about the interview?
I am a little bit nervous about getting in. We just found out a little bit ago that we are moving to Seattle so this was the only school that I could make the deadline for.
Anyways, any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Hey Madison!
I'm super stoked for you getting into both schools and hopefully you'll get into the U as well :) SPU is my first choice so I'm hoping I'll be able to get in! Can I ask what your GPA and Healthcare experience is? I'm a surgical tech in the OR and have 5,500 hours doing that and 200 being a CNA in school and a 3.78 GPA plus I need to take organic Chem. I'm going to chat with an advisor and see what I can do better for next year!

Thank you Monica! Wow, you have tons of experience hours! I have a pretty random, wide variety of experience. I have been a patient transporter, an inpatient physician Epic (EMR) tutor, an A & P TA at Eastern Washington University, and I currently work at Seattle Children's as a Family Service Coordinator. I have volunteered at a Hem/Onc center, in an ER, and as a cake decorator at the Spokane Ronald McDonald House. I also took a medical mission trip to Romania a few summers ago. I think I probably have less hours total than you, just a wide variety. My GPA is 3.97, I finished all of my pre-reqs last March.
I'll let you know when I get my UW letter- if I get in you'll be one spot closer to SPU!!
Wow Madison!! Your healthcare experience is so awesome!!! I think that if I don't get in this year I will take a weekend job in Seattle as an OR tech and work on my voulenteer hours. I do have a lot of experience but I don't think it's the right type of Pt care because they are only awake for a limited amount of time. Although I have high stress situations and critical thinking skills, but it seems like that's not enough. I applied to the U as well but SPU just felt right for me :) Again, congratulations on getting in, you sound like you'll be such an awesome nurse and I'm so happy for you!
A Jaqueline

Thanks Sarandipity! I've worked so hard for this moment :) It came in a large envelope with Seattle University's name and logo. Best of luck to you!
