Good luck everybody! I really hope that you all get in. This is a really stressful time in our academic careers, so let's use this thread to comfort each other and to answer each others questions about the admissions process. And at one point or another, celebrate our admission in the SON. Thank you very much!

Does anyone know when is orientation? I'm trying to plan a summer vacation around the orientation and beginning of classes

Hello. I found this on webportal. It has the dates of when the orientations are gonna be held.

SDSU Transfer Student Orientation - Program Dates

Specializes in Hospice & Palliative Care, Oncology, M/S.

Just to make it less confusing, there are two orientations that you will find. One is for the entire campus, and you should choose the nursing day. The New Student Orientation is a specialized orientation for your nursing school, and only your class will be there.

During the more general orientation on the 8th (?) you will receive your SDSU ID card as well as other information that will be helpful. During your New Student Orientation, date to be determined, you will be registering for classes and ordering uniforms, etc.

Let me know if that clears up the confusion.

So aside from the transfer students orientation, we'd have to attend the New Student Orientation? Or is that the same as the orientation on the 9th and 13th (for nursing, kinesiology, and a few others)? Thanks btw for answering my previous question.

Just to understand all this correctly, we will need to attend the new stundent orientation through the school and then one through the nursing program too, right? I signed up for the new student orientation and got to thinking...I sure hope it's mandatory to attend this because i just spent 100 bucks!! If anyone knows please let me know. Thank you very much!

That is correct. I know it's a lot going on at once. :)

Thank you so much! So I'm assuming we will recieve an e-mail as to when to attend the nursing program orientation?

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to know what new student orientation date everybody is going to. I really excited to meet everybody!

My NSO is August 9.

Also, Coriander: Do you know if the nursing program will provide a book list in advance for those who wish to purchase our books (for less money) before the nursing orientation?

Thanks for all the wise info :specs:!

Hi capogirl,
