  1. Alright... this year they took transfers in the spring cohort, but the previous year they didn't. Please call the school of nursing to see if they are allowing transfers to be in the spring 2014 cohort. If they are, then finish your pre-reqs with good grades and I would say that you are good to go! Good luck with everything... feel free to ask anymore questions about anything.
  2. @Jamie1990, No problem! Yes, that makes you eligible for the Spring 2014 cohort. Also, I read on the other thread that you have 75 points, I would say that you would be in really good position to make it in, especially in the Spring cohort. Are you planning to transfer into SDSU or are you currently as student there?
  3. Hi @Jaime1990, If in the fall, you are completing a pre-req or still need to take a pre-requisite, then you would put those courses in the box. I was just making sure that Sheshelleyes didn't put anything in there because she was applying for the fall cohort and any class in progress in either the fall or spring semester will make you ineligible for the fall cohort. Also, they took some transfers in this year's cohort as opposed to not taking any transfers in the 2011 spring cohort. Feel free to ask anymore questions if you need clarification or have anything else to ask.
  4. @jgummy - Congratulations on getting into the Spring cohort! I am pretty sure that you can't take NURS 200 until you start the program. 1st semester consists of NURS 200 (informatics), NURS 202 (Clinical assessment), NURS 206 (Fundamentals of Nursing Practice), and NURS 208 (Pathophysiology). Don't forget to take your WPA! A lot of people struggle with that test.
  5. Hi @PCroizier - Yes, there is one clinical course for the 1st semester of SON. Congratulations on getting in the Spring cohort! :)
  6. To everybody who has made it into the Spring 2013 cohort, welcome to the SDSU Nursing family and congratulations on your accomplishment! And I think your status will change from pending to accepted within a couple of days after you have accepted your spot in the SON. That is what happened for us in the Fall cohort. Once again, welcome to the Aztec family! To Henry (@distraught_concerned) and possibly anybody who didn't make it in this time, keep on trying. There are a lot of ways of obtaining your BSN. If you don't feel like you could possible obtain your BSN through a tradition BSN program and you still want to become a nurse, there are accelerated BSN programs, which I heard are a lot easier to get into. Here is a link to CSUSM's accelerated Nursing Program, which a couple of my friend currently go to right now: Program Requirements .... This isn't the end of the road, you might just have a different path to take in order to reach your goal.
  7. @LisaRed19 Congratulations!!!! I'm so happy that you got in the Spring 2013 class!
  8. Hi LisaRed19, Yes, I did apply for the Spring 2012 semester. But for that particular semester, I was not able to be accepted because of their transfer policy (which the guy at the admissions office said was that you had to be able to start your major as soon as your transferred into the university). But things change and maybe they started to allow some transfers into their Spring SON cycle. You are very welcome for the encouragement during last semester! I'm glad to see that you pulled through with A's! That will help you a lot when it comes to Nursing School. Also it is great that it appears that you have a plan for the future regardless of the outcome of this cycle. I wish you the best of luck and remember that I am always here to answer any questions that you may have or if you just need somebody to talk to. :)
  9. Nursing 202 - Section 6 and Nursing 206 section 3! Can't wait to meet you all very soon!
  10. Yes, I got accepted into SDSU's program. Very good... just make sure you get as many points as you could and I am sure that you will get in too!
  11. i am starting to think that the cut off for this semester was around 70 points. so, 71 could be okay, but i would try to get as many points as possible. and you have to finish 60 ge units, includes the golden four - oral communication, written communication, critical thinking, and math, and the major preparation courses that sdsu requires by then end of spring 2013 to apply to fall 2013. i would recommend taking all of the nursing prerequisites before the spring 2013 semester to be sure that you are eligible for the fall 2013 class. and make sure that you take the required organic chemistry course because the organic chemistry course that is required for biology and other science majors is waayy harder than the one required by sdsu and most nursing programs. here are some links to help you figure out if you meet all of the ge requirements for sdsu: www.sdsu.edu/tap http://www.assist.org/web-assist/sdsu.html - find your current college in the options and click "csu ge-breadth certification courses" to see transferrable ge requirements feel free to let me know if you need clarification on anything.
  12. All I can tell you is that SDSU and CSU San Marcos do not have wait lists. You have to keep applying every year. But I believe some local San Diego community colleges might have wait lists.
  13. Hi everybody, I was wondering how many points everybody has. A couple of my friends have applied this year and they are really anxious to know what everybody's point totals are like. Thank you very much!
  14. I'm so sorry for the really late response. I've been really busy as of late. But I studied for the TEAS test with a study manual directly from the ATI website. And yes, I am a transfer student. Are you still on track and did you get the classes that you needed to re-take during the summer?
  15. My NSO is on August 9th. I'm really looking forward to eventually meeting you all.
