2024 SCVMC New Grad/Clinical Nurse I

Published

I wanted to start a thread for 2024. I've only seen from previous years. So we can all know how it is all progressing.

I applied for all 3 Clinical Nurse I.

So far I've received two emails one

04/9/24 Progressive Care: email said I was a finalist but no ranking. Supposedly this is better than receiving a rank.

04/10/24 Critical Care: I actually received a rank and a score.

Got my ranking today, and it seems far too low to be considered at this point, even though I got a score of 77%. Any insight on rank vs. score and how that affects interview chances?

Also, does anyone who got a score of 90%+ mind sharing their stats? I'm not sure what else I could do to get that score up.

I feel like it's mixed, I've read posts that even in the 100's ranking you can still get called but that depends on the hiring manager.

I know for sure if you're top 10 you'll def get a follow up email/ call 😩

anyone wants to share their ranking? I ranked 110/ 88% ...

That's amazing! I ranked 417 score 82%. No chance I am getting called. LOL 😂

Honestly if you have those exact qualifiers from the questions they ask that's how your ranking moves up. Like exact tech/Pct experience, preceptorship, degree, work experience (even though it's an entry level job 🫠)

My past rankings were in the high 200's without any RN experience.

Specializes in Nursing,Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, Lab Manager.

Hi all! I'm at 80%/523. A little disheartening but I do appreciate knowing where I land on the list. Do they do this for every application? Can your rank change? I'm curious what happens next? Good luck everyone!

FYI - this was their response when I asked about the hiring event in July🙃

Thank you for your response and interest in career opportunities with the County of Santa Clara Health System. The Competitive Rating examination is used for the Clinical Nurses.

What is a Competitive Rating Process? A competitive rating is an examination method where the application material is assigned points for education, certifications, and/or experience. The evaluation is strictly done using pre-determined criteria of education, certifications, and experience to rank the candidates prior to placing the candidates on the eligible list.

The top 10-30 names as scored on the exam will be forwarded to the hiring manager for interview.  More names may be sent if there is more than one vacancy. You may find more information regarding the County of Santa Clara recruitment process on our Job Search Took Kit and FAQ website:  Job Search Tool Kit - Employee Services Agency - County of Santa Clara (sccgov.org)

Weird LOL 😆 well if they are only calling the first 10 to 30 names. Being ranked 417 is beyond LOL

Thanks for sharing guys! I was also really discouraged but it makes me feel better how open everyone is on this forum. I also got the sane ranking and score haha. Best of luck to everyone job searching right now🫶

If they consider 10-30 people per 1 vacancy, then I wonder how many vacancies there are? If there were like 10 spots, then I would think they'd consider a lot more than 30 people. If I'm understanding what they're saying correctly. Anyone on the top 100 list, I'm rooting for you! LOL

I heard most of the ICU interview invites went out this week. But they usually take walk-ins at the job fair for people who submitted an application! Not 100% sure if it'll be the same this time around but if you applied and didn't get an interview invite, I would still try to walk-in that day.
