Scripps New Grad Training Program

Hello California people,

I am starting this thread because the application for external candidates starts tomorrow, November 7th.

Has anyone applied as an internal candidate?

What areas are you interested in?

Any interviewees or hired new grads from past cycles?

This is what I heard about the program: first 3 months- in class getting to know the ropes, second 3 months- preceptorship with another nurse on unit (like senior preceptorship), third 3 months- you are on your own, last 3 months- you will be floated to other units and hospitals. After the program, you have to reapply again for a job with scripps when there's available and that would be considered your one year experience. Not a grantee job when done, but you will have the experience you need to go to any hospitals as RN II. Whatever works to get your foot in the door is what matters. GOOD LUCK to everyone! :nurse::)

yeah thats what my friend told me. he is currently doing the new grad program at scripps. but hey, if you have one year experience, im sure itll be easy to find a job.

I was told that 195 were interviewed and there are 80 positions.

New grad RN those odds are pretty good : ) Did HR tell you that?

As I was leaving the interview, I stopped by the HR desk by the door and that is what she told me.

new_grad_rn thank you so much. i heard there were 200 applicants and 40-60 slots. this information was given to by someone who was hired for the last program. those numbers may have very well changed.i was told those slots varied as there were also internal applicants applying. if they are hiring 80/200, those are very good odds.

hey everyone, i've been silently following this thread for a while. I had an interview on the 30th and i was just curious if anyone has heard anything from hr yet? so nervewracking!

I asked the nurse recruiter.. she said all notification of selection/non-selection will be done by no later then 12/16. So im guessing they will start calling by Monday if you get it, or you will receive a rejection email.

So hard to wait. Has anyone's status changed on the Scripps Website? Mine still says under review or something along those lines.
