Hi Everyone,
Just thought I would start a thread for the Scripps New Grad RN application that just opened up for the January and March 2020 cohorts. Good luck to all who are applying!

1. Create a portfolio that highlights your accolades from school and current/previous jobs (even if not healthcare related)
2. Do research on Scripps Mission and Vision statements to incorporate into your answers
3. Show your interview panel your personality. They want to see who you are and if you will fit in with the existing team.
4. Don't give cookie cutter answers. They dont ask any technical/knowledge based questions. Therefore, ensure your answers come from the heart. (A. Why did you choose Scripps? B. What are your strengths and weaknesses? C. How do you handle work conflicts) they asked a couple scenario based, what would you do questions and then rapid fire questions.
5. Interview panel typically has 3 managers on it, so bring 3 copies of your resume cover letter and credentials for them to keep. I presented mine in a folder for each.
6. Customer service and safety is of utmost important. Work that up as much as possible
7. RELAX. You are an awesome person and will be an awesome nurse. Stay positive!
Hi! Did you wear a blazer for your interview? I hate them! I'll wear it though if it makes a good impression.

I just finished my interview with Mercy SD! Anyone else interview with them or know when we hear back? ?
I also interviewed with the Mercy panel yesterday! ? We will all hear back in almost exactly 2 weeks. (I've interviewed with them twice before so I know the drill!) ?

Thank you so much! How did your interview go? What departments did you interview with, if I may ask? ?

No problem! I know the wait can be so nerve-wracking. I didn’t interview with a specific unit, but with Mercy as a whole. They asked which unit I had a preference for which I think is hopefully a good sign! Definitely crossing my fingers. How did yours go? Did you interview with a specific unit? Sending positive vibes to you!

Hi ABSN girl, yes I only interviewed with two units, which I thought was kind of strange because I don't remember listing down any particular unit on my application haha! I thought my interview went well as well, they were very kind and it felt relaxed. We'll find out in two weeks though! ? I'm so glad you felt good after! I'm wishing you the best ?
@NurseMayzla Did you guys get interviewed by the DEU panel with 2 women? There were two different panels for the DEU and that is so weird, I didn't get a picture taken... but I had my photo on my portfolio that I brought. That sounds like a good sign for you though!

I applied for the second time, for this application period first I was under hiring manager review then I got rejection that I was not selected and then on October 23rd I was invited to interview on the given dates.... My guess is someone canceled the interview and they went back and randomly selected me.
