Hey all!
I thought I would start a thread for those of us who submitted an application for the Scripps New Grad Program for March/June 2017. It took me forever to find the application, it wouldn't allow me to search it on the jobsatscripps page. I did finally get it submitted around 9:30am CA time so hopefully I made the 500 app cut off.
Good luck everyone!
I also was offered a position. I think they are emailing folks one by one today. My position is for Scripps La Jolla Med/Onc. start date was late March, but I requested to be switched to June and they were able to accommodate. Good luck everyone!
I got the same offer! La Jolla in Onc! I also switched my start date to June!!! :] Do you know anything about the unit?

Hey, that's awesome! I don't know anything about the unit actually. I'm planning on swinging by the unit before the program starts just to do a quick visual of the place and get familiar with the hospital. I don't get to San Diego until the beginning of May since I am still on the East Coast. Look forward to meeting you and working together!
Anyone here who will be working in Scripps Encinitas who is looking for a roommate? or has recommendation where to get a place in Encinitas? Thank you
It depends on your budget and preferences. You can get more affordable places to the East of Highway 5 since it's going away from the water. Solana Beach and Del Mar/Carmel Valley could also be an option for you if you don't mind driving a little bit. Lots of single Marine Officers in the Carlsbad area that are always looking for roommates as well. Hit up Craigslist since it is likely the best option to finding roommates in your area.
Hello fj13! I recently signed up on allnurses and I was reading through these messages because I think I want to apply to Scripps when their applications open soon! I was just wondering though on how you were able to prep your application beforehand, like how did you know what documents to prepare and what questions they were going to ask? Thanks! :)
In my personal circumstance, my application was pretty straight forward and basic. Where I guess my background differed from others was in that I had a previous career as a Marine Corps Officer where I retired right before going back to school for nursing. I did have a lot of leadership, management, and supervisory experience as a result. I also made sure that my application was submitted within the first hour of the posting for the position online. I had 95% of the application prepped and ready to go so I just had to upload documents and copy/paste answers to questions for the most part. From the interview standpoint, since this wasn't my first rodeo, I feel that I have gotten pretty comfortable interviewing and speaking with people since it was a very important component of my last career. If you can go into the interview confident and displaying a calm, measured, and friendly demeanor, you should be good to go. I shared stories during my interview, laughed and made some small jokes or comedic comments where appropriate, and was also serious when I needed to be in order to convey my points. Hiring managers know that you are qualified if you are granted an interview so, during the interview, it is all about them seeing your personality and how you handle yourself under stress. Based on that, I would imagine that they determine if you are a good fit for their unit.
Hope this helps, just my 2 cents
