Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO has a float pool ICU residency!

So I completely forgot about this post and comment I wrote in 2015. I started NS in 2015 and graduated this year. I start my pediatric CVICU residency as a new grad this month! Crazy to look back on this.

I applied last April before my May graduation & didn't get an interview. I got hired this cohort though so I don't think it decreases your chances or anything like that :)

Can't wait to meet everyone! :)

I called HR today to ask if I was no longer being considered for CVICU after interviewing and they told me that I should've received a reference request last week! Somehow on their end the email didn't send to me. I just filled out the reference request! So excited. @newgrad2017_ you should call tomorrow and ask!

I applied for SNFs while waiting to get into a new grad program here in Southern California. All of them offered me more money or near the same amount I was offered at the hospitals. Don't let the pay discourage you :) a SNF is a great place to get experience while applying for residency programs.

From my understanding, you get an email for reference requests if you're moving on. I know someone who interviewed for CVICU and they got a request on Friday. Friday was the last day of interviews on that unit. I'm assuming that HR would've sent an email to everyone CVICU wanted references for. I mean it's possible that they're still sending them out, but I doubt it. Sucks.

Hi! My interview with CVICU went well. Everyone was really nice which helped with the nerves. I didn't get a reference request so I am not moving on in the process. Good luck to you!
