  1. Ok well that changes things. You have a reason to move there(husband has a job). I would still make plans to work outside the city though. Of course be hopeful of landing a job in SF but have backup plans is what I am saying. Depending on your husbands income situation you may have more time to wait and see. However the best advice that I can give a new grad is take the experience you can get.
  2. Not sure where you are from but I sure wouldn't plan on a move to SF until you actually have a job locked down. The Bay Area is a large place and you should be open to taking a new grad job anywhere you can get one. I am assuming you may not be from California? New grad job market is tough here IMO. Certainly tough enough that I wouldn't plan to limit my job hunt to one part of the Bay Area. Just keep an open mind in your job search.
  3. No they never made a mention of it. Even in the offer letter there isn't anything talking about needing to aquire a BSN. I still plan to get one but I am not sure they would require me to do so. Also I wasn't aware of their magnet status so that is interesting.
  4. I have an ADN also but I am not currently enrolled in any BSN program. I also made no mention of it anywhere in my resume or interview. It is probably still a good idea to do so but I don't think it is a deal breaker.
  5. I'm going to Scripps Green and will be at DOU with the March group. Guess I'll be seeing some of you soon. Congrats to all who made it and to those who didn't don't give up.
  6. Forgot to add they said they selected 67 total applicants so one down 66 to go!
  7. Check your emails everyone! Just got an email I have been accepted into the new grad program. They will be making formal calls next week. Good luck to all those who applied!
  8. So...is this turning into we will let you know mid-week in two weeks?
  9. Change on my date as well. Guess we will see if that is good, bad, or nothing at all.
  10. My guess, would be the NICU/peds experience. Everything about NICU/peds vs general med surg will be different. Yes coming from a well known hospital is always good but I would think actual patient experience working in your specialty would be much more valuable. Also I didn't quite understand if you have the NICU/peds job in hand or you are turning down the med surg job for a chance to work NICU/peds? If that was the case I would take the job you have in hand.
  11. Not sure Thursday counts as mid next week. However I will forgive them if I make it in :)
  12. No news yet. Perhaps later this evening or Thursday.
  13. Wow didn't realize that many had interviews. Well good luck everyone!
  14. Yes and my advice is to try and stay busy to keep your mind off of it. BTW I saw on the handout they gave us they will only select 20-25 people for the program. Is that the true number? If so how many people did they interview? I know the interviews were supposed to be two days and pretty much running all day. In my interview "group" we had 4 applicants. As I left I saw another group already in the waiting room.
