Scripps Healthcare New Grad Residency Program 2011, has anyone received a interview invitation?
Is anyone here from the Bay Area? If so, where did you attend nursing school? Also, did most people with offers have some affliation to San Diego? Thanks to those who responded!
I went to school locally with a BSN. Most of the people I know who were hired at any of the local hospitals were either CNA's or PCA's during school or knew someone on the inside. It's all about networking.
Agh. how frustrating I clearly remember HR saying that we should expect to hear something by the end of this week -- offer or not. I may be optimistic, but I really do think they haven't finished making ALL calls as of yet - and with good reason as it must be difficult on their end to choose 55 out of 300 or so well qualified applicants. To those who were already extended offers: congrats on your success and all the best beginning your new careers at Scripps :) For the rest of us still waiting to hear something - I'm taking it as a good sign that we at the very least didn't get any rejection emails...so lets try to enjoy the beautiful weather (at least in so cal) and see what next week brings us :)

I'm from the bay area. Didn't graduate from the bay area though but am licensed in California. Also, I flew all the way to San Diego. Hope it will be worth it.
Yeah same here. The flight tickets were so expensive. But like you said, I hope it is worth it. Where'd you go to nursing school? When did you graduate?
Well I went to nursing school in 2 places. I went to this school called International University of Nursing in St. Kitts then transfered to a school in Colorado so I can be eligible to take the NCLEX in the US. I graduated May 2010.
Hi Sooperdooper! Congratulations on your new upcoming job at Scripps!
I have a couple of questions for you - Did HR call you about the job offer? Or was it the unit manager that called you? I read that you will be working at the Cardiac Unit, is it at 6 East Cardiac Care Unit, Scripps La Jolla?
Thanks for the reply!
I just tried to call HR via the phone number listed in my interview invite email. I wanted to see if there was a generic message giving an update on the hiring system, etc. It seems that the HR gal is out of the office until the 28th and will return phone calls then. The message directs all new grad questions to another HR person. I was under the impression that it was the HR gal that spoke to the groups that would be calling with the job offers. Has someone different been calling? I am still listed as applicant review and have not received a "no thank you" email.

I'm new to this thread, but wanted to add some info. I know people who got positions earlier this week at Memorial, Chula Vista and Encinitas. I too am waiting for some kind of answer and haven't received a yay or nay as of yet. I also have a friend who interviewed on Monday for Green and Memorial and received a rejection email on Wednesday, so emails have been sent out already. My status still says under review.
