SCOTT&WHITE nursing internship

Nurses General Nursing

Specializes in NICU.

I applied to the Scott & White nursing internship to start in June, and I was just looking for people out there who have applied in the past, and when they heard back from them, or even just some insight on the whole hiring process.

I applied just last week, March 17th, to be exact! I know it might be too soon right now for a call back, but I'm just a little antsy about it.

Thank you for any feedback :)!

I'm currently applying for the Scott & White June internship. Just out of curiosity.. what were your three area choices? I am having a hard time starting this cover letter because I do not know whose attention to make it to. I am wondering if I should just choose one of the nurse recruiters' names. Also on the questionnaire, do you basically answer those questions on a separate sheet of paper, or do you write an essay, and within that essay, answer those questions? Any advice would be helpful thanks!

My area of choice is NICU, PICU, and Pediatrics. Crossing my fingers I get this job!

I just made my cover letter addressed to: To whom it may concern.

I guess choosing one of the recruiters wouldn't be a wrong thing to do. There are just four of them, so it's like, "which one do i choose?!"

I asked one of the nursing recruiters and they said to answer all the questions in an essay format. I think that's sort of weird, but it's the way they said they wanted it. So, I answered it in an essay format on a separate sheet.

Wow! My choices are also NICU, PICU (and the third one I am trying to decide between adult ICU or periop). So did you number your answers on the separate sheet and answer each question separately in essay format, or are you saying you just typed one essay.. answering all of those questions? I am working on this tonight and I am stumped!! Anyway, good luck to you.. I hope you receive good news :)

Wow, I hope we can both get this job! :)

It was one straight up essay. No numbering, just essay.

Good luck to you!

We should keep each other updated on this whole process!

Well I finally finished my questionnaire and sent off my packet today. I decided to put pediatrics as my third choice as well because I was so unsure on my third choice but definitely knew that NICU and PICU were my first pics. I must have overlooked the general peds internship when I first applied.

Yes! Let's keep each other informed on the process and keep our fingers crossed. This is exciting...I hope we both get an offer!!

I got a call for an interview in NICU!! yippeeeeee :D

This will be my first interview so I'm pretty nervous about this whole thing, but it's only because I want this so badly.

Hopefully I'll have good news when I'm done with the whole interview. *crossing my fingers*

Congrats!!! I am so happy for you!! You will have to keep me updated on the whole process and let me know how the interview went. When is it scheduled for? I hope I get a call too.. I changed my third choice to periop since I have some OR experience and I know the NICU and PICU are highly competitive areas. Cross your fingers for me and I will be wishing you the best too!

:ancong!:

My interview was today, and it went great...at least I thought so! The manager was super nice, and very easy to talk to. I wasn't nervous at all.

She told me that NICU is a highly competitive area, so I'm sort of nervous about how many applicants there are. However, a nurse told me that they hire about 14 nurses for each internship. So! We'll see.

I sent my packet off for one of their internships early March never got a reply but I wish you good luck hope you get the job.

Sometimes it takes awhile to receive a call. You might still receive one. I know they told me the specialty areas had so many applications. I also applied for the acute care internships (oncology area), which did not require a packet.. just completing an online application. Good luck to you!
