I applied to the Scott & White nursing internship to start in June, and I was just looking for people out there who have applied in the past, and when they heard back from them, or even just some insight on the whole hiring process.
I applied just last week, March 17th, to be exact! I know it might be too soon right now for a call back, but I'm just a little antsy about it.
Thank you for any feedback :)!
Hi everyone. I just found out i'm in the ICU internship!! Yippee!! I am wondering if anyone else who got in is relocating from California??? I am coming from San Diego. Big change but I couldn't be more excited! Also, I have yet to receive my new hire packet but is it true the start date is June 7?
KareBare511 - I know it's been almost 5 months since your last reply to this thread but I hope you get this.
Can you share with us your experience in the critical care internship program? I will be interviewing for the program in several weeks. Any interviewing tips would be appreciated! I heard it will be a group interview with the director of ICU. So nervous...
Hey ijuanabhappy, I was reading thru some of the Texas posts & was wondering how your internship application turned out & if you are working now? I also noticed that you are an 'older' applicant & was wondering if you think your age has had any impact on employment? What nursing school did you graduate from if I may ask? I am a 53 yr old student, currently @ MCC and set to graduate in August. :)
I got into the NICU internship! EEEEEEEEEK, I am so excited:w00t:I heard the start is June 7th, too! I haven't accepted, but will soon.
...and I'm from Texas, not so big change for me, but:
:hrns&wlcm:TO TEXAS!!!
RN4LOVE how did your internship turn out? Your post is about a year old so I thought I would just check in with you to see how it went. Tell us about it! I'm very interested in applying for an internship once I'm qualified. Congratulations!:)
Hey PortlandOR,
I actually ended up getting a second offer at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas and chose that one instead. So I've been working there for a year now! I loved the whole internship/orientation process. I can't speak for Scott and White, but they really made sure that I felt comfortable before letting me be on my own. I am taking care of sweet babies now, and loving every minute of it!!! I definitely think applying for an internship/orientation program is vital to switching from nursing student to confident, autonomous nurse.
Good luck in all that you do!
RN4LOVE

I interviewed for NICU internship, and she never asked for my transcript or anything about grades. It could be different for other areas. I'm not sure.
