I was just wondering for people who did KAPLAN what were you getting on question trainers and then if you took NCLEX how did you do?:heartbeat
Test 7 was 52%. Test 5 & 6 was 56 and 57. Getting low scores throughout the Kaptests were difficult but I always felt I was making progress. When the test 7 scare was lower than I expected, it really shot my ego to pieces. What little confidence I had mustered was reduced to nothing. This was my second attempt taking the NCLEX so picking up myself off the pavement got to be one of my strengths.
I asked everyone I knew about their Test 7 scores. I read allnurses for all scores and nothing gave me any hope or any reassurance. It scared me so much that I postponed my exam by one week. In the end, I passed with 75, easily. Many people thought that Kaplan wasnt worth the investment but I can honestly say, with Kaplan's Qbank (qbank average was 53 and I only used 50% of it), Kaplan's algorithm and Kaplan's approach to content, it made NCLEX seem possible.
I looked up at the time after about 2.5 hours had passed and I was only at question 40 something. I mysteriously finished and literally swore (sorry to the other test takers there). I was so angry that all of the work of content and questions were not on the test. I was incredibly prepared thanks to Kaplan. I think the variable with Kaplan is the instructor. My instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and empowering. The one thing I asked prior of Kaplan was it would only be worth all of this money if I passed, if I learned more and most importantly, if I was more confident going into the test. Mission accomplished. Got the nod a day after the test.
Right now I am freaking out because tomorrow is my last day of kaplan and these are my scores so far
diagnostic-62
QT1-64
QT2- 59
QT3- 68
QT4- 63
QT5-59
readiness- 63
my exam is in a little over a week, but barely, should I reschedule it?
I plan on taking QT6&7 next week so I'm not sure what to do, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I just want to pass the first time with 75 questions if possible
I think the last one was 61? And I took that in May! I had my exam Sept. 10th and Kaplan expired back at the start of August. I wouldn't really go by your kaplan scores. Just keep doing your nclex questions, remember lab values, go over some calculations (remember how to convert measurments!) and you'll be OK. Relax a little even though that's easier said than done.
Kaplan is a good study review to assist you to become a better critical thinker. But personally I wouldn't rely on it to pass the nclex for the main reason that it does not review much content. I had people that did great with kaplan and had people who did EVERYTHING on Kaplan AND STILL FAILED!:grn: I didn't do any of the tests except QBANK which I only did 85%. I mainly did alot of CDs and studied a good content review book( EXAM CRAM and ATI review book). Good luck!:rckn:

Even though this thread is 2 years old, I'll respond anyway.
I scored 57 percent on Question Trainer #1, 72 percent on #2, and 67 percent on #3. I scored 67 percent on the readiness exam. I never bothered taking question trainers 4, 5, 6, or 7. I was still able to pass NCLEX with the minimum of 75 questions in approximately one hour.
