anyone applying for the RN program at Suffolk Community College - Fall 2014??

Greetings again everyone, I'm a transfer student (from Florida) so I haven't really made any friends here (yet). I was accepted into the Ammerman day program so if anyone is looking for a friend/study buddy/whatever I'm here. I linked my Facebook so feel free to add me. See everyone at orientation! Woohoo!

I was accepted into the lpn-rn grant also does anyone know how long the program is and if we go over next summer as well?

Hello...I also was accepted into the program at Grant. My name is Kelly. I will look into that s those are the same questions I have. Look forward to meeting you.

Hey Kelly it is not offered over the summer ... I think maybe only dosage and calculations is. But you can only do one clinical at a a time in the fall and spring so it will still take the 2 years. I wish it was quicker for people who already had all the non nursing classes completed but I was told you can't move ahead, you have to stay within the sequence.

Thanks Ash. We are in the LPN TO RN program at Grant. And you are correct as we do not go over the summer. There is a nursing program that does go over the summer, but not the one I'm in.

Oh ok ! I Wish they did

Hi

I am new to this forum, I applied for grand day 1st choice and ammerman day 2nd choice..I got a letter in March saying I've been added in the alternate list. today 5/7/14 @ 11:59 I got a missed phone call from admission, the voicemail said to call back it's in regards to the nursing program. I called back at least 10 times, I keep getting her voicemail finally I left her a voicemail because she left for the day, I am so anxious and nervous to hear back from her... I have a million thoughts going through my head.. Do they take you out the list once they don't get you? Are they going to call me back? Was I accepted? I can go on... Anyone else in the same boat? Any comments will be appreciated.

Thank you!

Is anyone else feeling defeated and and nervous after yesterdays orientation? I am looking forward to the program itself but I have no idea how this is going to financially happen. Between ATI and all the other fees, even though I work full time (and will continue to through the program) we are struggling to pay our bills as it is. And I'm sure a lot of you are going through similar situations. How do you plan on handling the extra financial stress that comes along with this program?

Anyone here from the wait list heard from admissions yet?

waitlist here (Ammerman Day). Haven't heard anything. I got into the LPN program and am going to start that over the summer while I'm waiting. Talked to my professors at orientation about RN program. Said we'll hear back way into the summer, usually when people realize they aren't at the right place in life to go through the program. Might not even hear until the bill is due. I know it sounds absolutely TERRIBLE to hope someone drops out, but... LOL

Thanks for the info Nikki. Basically we just have to wait without any reasonable time frame & information on what to expect. Are they going to notify us either way? I called admissions but the info I was given was very vague & brief other than just to wait until the semester starts.

I was wait listed as well, but got my acceptance letter last week for ammerman evening. They are now sending acceptance letters off the wait list- good luck all!! Don't give up, I have been applying for 2 years with rejections, then wait listed.
