  1. It's a LOT of stuff to do last minute. I went from extremely excited to overwhelmed and crying on the phone to my boyfriend in an instant lol. You need everything done by the first day. So tuesday i had to shell out a $100 deposit and 1/3 of the tuition to not get dropped… about $1000. Need to purchase ATI which will be another $345 but still waiting to hear back and see if they'll give me a credit from the LPN package i purchased and will now never use... need to take TEAS test if you havent already. CPR cert for first day of clinical which is next week so if you dont already have one.. good thing i do. all the medical forms. textbooks. uniform. etc. i have everything put together except the 2nd step of my PPD... but id think theyd be understanding and let me have the extra week to get the second one since i just got accepted 2 days ago. the uniform you have to special order and wont get for 7-10 days so im going to call and ask if a blue scrub top in place for now is acceptable. it was a major expense all at once and it sucked lol just telling myself its worth it
  2. UPDATE: They just called me this morning to accept me. Last minute, but that's better than nothing ! Going to have to scramble to get everything together lol. There's still time !
  3. Me too... Don't know what the wait is. Fill those spots! I would rather just know yes or no than wait like this

  5. Nope. Girl in my summer class was on the wait list for Ammerman Day and just got accepted. They sent out acceptance to 5 other people with her, only 2 accepted. Still 4 spots open in Ammerman Day (via stalking class registration). Got in touch with Admissions who said wait list will be active through August. Patiently waiting... I'd gladly take one of those 4 spots I'd be there instantly with a deposit lol
  6. No ((( turning into an anxiety ridden mess
  7. Wow that's very interesting ! Thank you, its been impossible to get much information
  8. waitlist here (Ammerman Day). Haven't heard anything. I got into the LPN program and am going to start that over the summer while I'm waiting. Talked to my professors at orientation about RN program. Said we'll hear back way into the summer, usually when people realize they aren't at the right place in life to go through the program. Might not even hear until the bill is due. I know it sounds absolutely TERRIBLE to hope someone drops out, but... LOL
  9. A little insight for anyone on the wait list: I have been trying and trying to get in touch with someone at the school and I finally did ! The woman in admissions didn't really help me much, all she said is that there is really only a handful of people on the wait list so I guess that's good news... I was asking when I should expect to hear if I get accepted and she said up to the first day of classes... LOL... Ugh. I got the feeling I'm just going to have to keep calling and checking. Maybe I should try to get through to the nursing dept??
  10. It it such a competitive program and only a limited number of seats, but I feel we should be positive! It's still a way better chance for us to be wait listed than denied outright ! I'm sure a good amount of people will turn down their seat because they got in elsewhere keep your chin up! We got this !! I've just turned into a bit of a nut obsessively checking the MYSCCC page 4 times a day and scouring the internet for wait list experiences haha..
  11. I am really hoping I get a chance! Congrats to all you guys who got accepted hopefully I'll be seeing you in the fall :) anyone else wait listed?
  12. 3.9 in the prerequisites, 3.76 overall. Hopefully I get lucky ! I graduated last May with a BS from Stony in Health Science already, did apply to other programs for accelerated BS programs at Molloy, Adelphi etc but SCCC is really my first choice as a 22yr old paying her way through lol... Hoping for it !
  13. I just got wait listed so discouraged, I thought I had a shot with a 3.9 gp
  14. Thanks for your input guys! I know going straight to RN is probably the best, it's just so tempting to go the LPN route and try and find a job quicker..
  15. hey everyone. i'm a 19yr old student in long island finishing up my nursing pre-reqs during the next school year. i'm currently debating whether to try to get into an 11-month lpn program and start working then in a few years try and get into a bridge program or just try for rn. i keep hearing how competitive rn programs are, so would it be smarter and more cost effective to do the lpn program and save up some money? has anyone done this? help!!
