SCC/ARC Fall 2021 Sac City/American River College

Nursing Students School Programs

Anyone else submit their apps for SCC or ARC for fall 2021?I submitted my SCC packet last week and ARC the other day. I was hoping my online app status would change to received but it still says submitted

When I was accepted by SCC (way back once upon a time, nearly 10 years ago now), I got an acceptance and a rejection letter. Needless to say that was a bit confusing but I did verify that the acceptance letter was the correct correspondence and the rest is history.

Just know that the two programs (SCC and ARC) are fairly similar, so if you're "qualified" to attend one, you're very highly likely "qualified" to attend the other, assuming you've done everything needed to get in.

SSC does not update status, and they have it in their website that if you are not picked you will not be notified or be given an email saying why.

Sierra College does the same thing. no notification or reason. If you don't get picked you don't get notified.

That's just the way they do it there.

You could try calling and ask if there was a reason you did not qualify or if you just didn't get picked.

ARC does update the statuses though.

Some peoples status changed to qualified on Tuesday, but mine has not changed so far.

So for Sierra, a counselor will notify you if you were not selected because you were missing something in your application packet.

SCC - can you link the part where it states that they don't update the statuses?

I have status received for both therefore I do not know I am qualified or not..

man.... I consider myself pretty good at following processes and instructions, but this was really more complicated than it needed to be.  You are right, it is so similar, but I am concerned about something not getting processed on the end of the college.

It’s stressful. If you completed the criterion form, have the 70 points and included all required documents you should be confident you were qualified. I know I was for LVN and SCC even though it may never say. I think you wouldn’t apply if you didn’t meet all requirements.

So my situation was different because I had taken classes from several colleges and it was hard to be sure that the transcripts had been received. I also submitted my phlebotomy cert as experience and I had received conflicting responses as to that being valid or not.

Oh yeah that is going to be more stressful then. I wish we could just find out!! Good luck to you!

here's a quote from their site

"Selected applicants will be emailed at the address provided on the application within eight weeks of the close of the acceptance period. Only selected applicants will be contacted."

If the phlebotomy cert was necessary to get you over the 70 points, then that's stressful indeed! If you're already over 70 points without the phlebotomy cert, then not so much...

My case was almost similar in that I also had coursework from other colleges and universities, some more than 25 years ago, with name and course catalog number changes. I had to show the entire line of changes across the catalogs to get credit for the past courses. Tedious, but it worked in getting me the past credit needed.

Did you include your transcripts in your packet? Should be no problem as long as you had them in your packet.

I also had a lot classes for different colleges. LOL. I had like 5 difference transcripts in my packet.

I understand that we won't be contacted if we don't get selected, that was not my misunderstanding.  My question was, where did it say that they would not utilize the statuses and just leave you on "application received" and never update it to "rejected" "qualfied" "not qualified" etc?

this is what I found, which says applicants will be evaluated, and have their multi criteria forms confirmed, then selected.

"Once the application acceptance period ends, all applications are evaluated, and multi-criteria scores confirmed. Applicants will be selected at random, and once 30 qualified applicants and 10 alternates have been selected for Fall and Spring semester, the evaluation process ends."

same, but when I got different responses every time I asked about how to submit it, it made me nervous

I think for your situation it would be best for you to send them an e-mail.

I hope you get it figured out asap ❤️
