Santa Fe College ASN Class of 2013

Published

Since we are no longer "hopeful applicants" it makes sense to have new thread for those of us starting classes in August. We can use this as a place to get/share info on the program, express our excitement about finally being bona fide nursing students, or just get to know each other.

A big :ancong!: to everyone who made it in! We all worked so hard to get here. I look forward to meeting all or some of you as we begin what I'm sure will be two very crazy years. :D

Not a problem! I was wondering the same thing too, but she told me that we might have to get a few things here and there, but for the most part that is it! :)

And Sharen, yes mine says that as well!

I am so sorry it has taken me soo long to reply. I've been sick in bed for the last 3 days!!! Yuck! The times for the class are 12:30 and 4:00. For more info, just email Monica Stephens:

[email protected] or call her (904) 7558993

That's ok, I hate that you were sick. Hopefully you are feeling better now!! I emailed her, so I'll be there if there are seats available. Thanks again!!

thanks! I am much better. I am sure there are seats still open. I signed up for the 4 pm class. I hope to see you there! :)

There were still seats available, so I'll be there at 4 p.m., also. Thanks again and see you tomorrow :)

Hey Guys,

I received a beautiful stethoscope with my name engraved on it from my brother and sister in-law! I am so excited!

Also, I wanted to mention that Santa Fe has a Student Health Care Center:

I apologize if this is redundant. But, they do offer physicals/immunizations and other services for students.

Cool! I didn't know that. I had already gone to the health clinic in Alachua. My titers only cost me $27 though. It took two weeks to get the results back, but today I had my physical and dropped off my paperwork. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Now I can relax until school starts............well at least relax with my kids.;)

For anyone with kids, do you think that the SFC kid emergency policy is a little childish? If my daughter has to be sent home from daycare with a fever (above 100F) the police have to come get me out of class so I can leave. Are we seriously 'locked' in class? I guess this is an idication of how serious the program is.:uhoh3:

Wow! That sounds a little extreme. I don't even have kids, and the policy seems kind of strange. How do they handle family emergencies?

So, I am in NUR1020C section 001...anyone else?

I think it might be time for me to read the handbook. Lol.

I'm enjoying the calm before the storm. The fam is going camping at the Disney campground before school starts. To make it relaxing we are not going to the parks. We did that last time and I had to take a vacation after my vacation. We'll just be hangin' out by the pool.

What's everyone else doing? Are you preparing or relaxing?

Hi everyone,

I hope we are all enjoying the down-time before school begins. I am trying to get organized and the house in order before we begin.

I haven't ordered my books yet, but probably will this next week. Has everyone ordered their name tags? I think I was told we can order them after orientation, the first day of class, is this correct?

It's very hard to believe we will be starting school in less than 3 weeks! :) Is everyone getting excited?!?!?
