I'm getting ready to apply and just took my TEAS V. Didn't do as well as I would have liked. I'm a litle bummed and was wondering was some of the nursing students TEAS V and overall points were for this upcoming Fall 2013 year now that the lowered the number of students to 40.

Thanks :specs:

i just got in touch with them a bit ago and they sent me an email stating that they accidentally overlooked my application.. but then sent me the email to submit my documentation as a TRANSFER student..... basically meaning that I'm applying as a transfer student, which has an availability basis on seating. I'm not a transfer student, so I don't know what's going on. I didn't check anything on the app about being a transfer student. This is all quite disheartening. :( Hopefully I hear something back about what's going on

Oh, wow. Were there THAT many applications? And you emailed them back saying you're not a transfer student, right? Have you taken all your classes at Delta?

yea exactly. i emailed them back and told them i took all my classes at delta. i had went to ccsf and mjc in the past so i put that in the spot that said list all schools you have ever attended.. but i never said anything about transfer. i also said delta in the drop down bar for all the prerequisites with the grades. im bummed out because i know that when stuff like this happens they usually just say oh you made an error and deny you. im trying to hope that isn't the case because i wouldn't check any of that stuff off.

Full of Faith, do you have a current application on file at SJ Delta? If you haven't registered for classes in the past year (fall, spring, or summer), then you need to reapply to be considered an active student. Being an active student is required for applying to the nursing program. That's the only thing I can think of that would make one a transfer student. Otherwise, if you have a current application regardless of taking any classes at Delta, you are the same as anyone else and I would complain. If you don't have a current application on file, then I think you might have lucked out that they will still consider your application.

I got the email too :)

Full of Faith.....maybe they just resent the wrong email. Don't get discouraged, it should straighten out. Just make sure to stay on top of it. Good Luck

no i have a current application. i just finished physiology in may. i didn't take summer classes and i was registered for two classes this fall but i decided to drop them. it's really confusing. i don't understand how my application could say transfer. i just went on the adn website, clicked online application, and filled it out. i wouldn't mark any option for transfer. i guess only time will tell what is going on.

thanks a whole lot. i appreciate that. i hope so too :)

A new countdown begins. Hopefully we will all get good news so we can have a happy halloween.

I would follow up with them and find out why you are listed as a transfer. Students can transfer from another nursing program, which is done on a space available basis. Maybe they're confusing your application with another student. I hope everything works out:)

Congratulations to everyone who received a letter and good luck to those still hoping! I received a letter as well and will be submitting the documents in the up coming week. I can't wait for the next step! ::excited::

The nurse I did my volunteer hours with is on vacation and has no way of getting a hospital letterhead. She is going to type something out on paper, sign it and mail it no me. Do you think they will accept this? If not will they just remove those point from my rank or toss my application out completely? Anyone know???

Hello, cjr2619. I think you should ask the school. The criteria stated that it must include the letterhead, and they probably do it that way because then we could have any person in the medical field (or not in the medical field) vouch for us. It'd be that easy. I know they're pretty strict with the application and documents. I mean, the reason why they have us submit the documents is to see if we were telling the truth about what we said in our application. I honestly wouldn't know, but I think they'd be strict about it. If they let you slide with it, they'd have to let everyone slide.
