San Joaquin Delta College Spring 2013

U.S.A. California

I'm getting ready to apply and just took my TEAS V. Didn't do as well as I would have liked. I'm a litle bummed and was wondering was some of the nursing students TEAS V and overall points were for this upcoming Fall 2013 year now that the lowered the number of students to 40.

Thanks :specs:

my breakdown of points was 3.0 for my sciences, which gave me 20, C in micro A in anat and B in physio.. i got 10 for a 4.0 in FCS and ENG. I have 2.5 for additional criteria, 3 points for 1000+ EMT hours, and a 86.7 on the teas which is either 25 or 26 points, depending on rounding up, giving me a whopping total of 60.5 or 61.5. anybody want to share their breakdown ?

OK, I submitted my application Sunday evening. So glad that's done! Is anyone on here from the Sacramento area? I'm wondering if the Sutter Extended Campus with Sac City is doing a Spring 2013 program. I'm not seeing anything on there site or the application page.

Hey! I asked sac city and no sutter program this application round but they believe next semester they will. Have you applied to sac city before? I just turned in my application packet today and I'm so nervous! I think I put way too much stuff in there but I wanted to cover my bases so my app doesn't get kicked out!

No, this is my first semester applying, but I thought with the no fee tuition fees for the Sutter Extended Program then it would be worth making the drive and finishing quicker. Going to Sac City for 2 years and paying tuition and gas wouldn't make financial sense because I live in Stockton, so I didn't apply. Good luck! Is Sac City your first choice?

Oh that makes sense. I live in sac and sac city is my first choice, god willing! I applied to delta, but I'm pretty sure my math doesn't meet the requirement. So we will see. It sucks because I scored an 83 on my points. I am also applying to ARC is Sacramento and in the process of getting on Solano's wait list. I wish ARC and Sac City would move to the same selection process as Delta. It's just too bad I might have to wait a few years just to get in.

Oh and this is my first semester applying too :)

My breakdown is 40 points for 4.0 in sciences, 10 points for 4.0 in other prerequisites, I scored an 83.3 on teas for 22 points, and last 2.5 points since I qualify for fin. Aid. Total 74.5.

with that score you'll be sure to get in. good job!!! that's awesome that you got all A's in the sciences. The counselor said only 6 people had done that before when I met with her.

To those of you that have applied to SCC, or any that know the answer. Is the sociology prereq effective this application period? It was previously a co-req and I'm in process now, however it is not complete. They just updated this July 2012, and it would have been too late to take it this summer, but now I'm worried even though it let me submit my application without it. Thanks!!!!

I believe that the sociology prereq was always in place, however cultural anthropology can be taken instead.

Prior to July it was a co-req and just needed to be completed before graduation, but not prior to applying to the program. I am currently in the anthropology course, but in July they changed the wording on the handout to state that its a pre-req and can not be in progress at the time of applying. When you apply it still only states that the non-science pre-req's are the english and psychology. But I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this too, and had an answer. I am wondering if this is for the next application period?

Hi, everyone! I decided to finally register for an account just so that I can talk to those who applied to the Spring 2013 program. I wanted to compare points with everyone. I'm pretty worried, and don't know how high my chances are in being one of those 40 accepted. Here's a breakdown of my points:

AA/AS Degree: 2.5

Work Experience in Health Care Field w/ Direct Human Patient Care: 2

Science Prerequisites:

Anatomy: 4 Units Attempted, 4 Units Completed, A Grade (4) = 16 Points

Physiology: 5 Units Attempted, 5 Units Completed, C Grade (2) = 10 Points

Microbiology: 4 Units Attempted, 4 Units Completed, A Grade (4) = 16 Points

Units Attempted: 12 Units, Grade Points: 42 Points = GPA: 3.5 GPA

= 30 Points

Other Prerequisites:

English: 3 Units Attempted, 3 Units Completed, A Grade (4) = 12 Points

Nutrition: 3 Units Attempted, 3 Units Completed, A Grade (4) = 12 Points

6 Units Attempted, Grade Points = 24 = 4.0 GPA

= 10 Points

Low Family Income / Need to Work / Difficult personal and family situation/circumstances: 2.5

Proficiency in a language other than english: 2.5

Teas Score: 76 = 15 Points

When added all together, I have 64.5 points. What about everyone else? :nailbiting:

And a lot of my friends were accepted into the past programs with scores only being in the range of low 60's. I probably don't have as much history as everyone else. I'm 20 years old, and have only taken the TEAS exam once. I'm so nervous! But today is 9/21/12, and the email said they should be sending status notifications by today. Has anyone received an email yet?
