Has anyone applied yet???
You should qualify for this http://www.oshpd.ca.gov/HPEF/Text_pdf_files/2011ADN_FILL.pdfSo long as you are in an ADN program you should be qualified for this grant. The money is for $10,000 which you do not have to pay back. Some of my friends got this and they are using it to pay for random stuff.
There is a catch however. You have to work in a medically undeserved area for 2 years, but you do not have to pay it back. Medically underserved by their definition does not mean out in the boonies or in the ghetto only. County hospitals, VA hospitals, and I think prison hospitals also count as medically underserved.
They should be putting up a new one at the start of the new year. So don't worry about the postmark being September 2011.
Thanks Again Kalvera! BTW, when you said the books are about 300-600$, is this per semester? and are the ADN kits the same kits used at other schools (I've got a friend who has one from SCC in sacramento and she doesn't need it anymore).

Hi Kalevra:
Do you know any students in the program who want to get rid of the old books since they finished the class? Or is there any "textbooks for sale forum" among delta nursing student? I come across many old book sales in other colleges. Thanks in advance.
I (and other Fall 2012 applicants I'm sure) would love to see some overall scores with ranking numbers for who got in and who is an alternate if you don't mind posting. It would be much appreciated!!
I am in the low 60s: 83% (TEAS V) + 3.4(Science)+4.0(Eng. & Nutr)+ BA & Foreign Lang.
I do not have any hospital experience, so am now worried sick about the clinical:( :crying2:

Thanks so much! That is really helpful. I'm sure you aren't the only one with a lack of clinical experience. I have great grades, but I know the clinical portion will be more of a struggle for me as I only have a little phlebotomy experience. Congratulations on getting in!!
