Hey everyone I can't seem to find a forum for the Fall 2019 application for Delta so I thought I'd create one. I applied already. I like the way the new application is set up online. It was clearer to me this time around. I'm curious as to how many points everyone is applying with. ?

I’m feeling pretty defeated you guys. I didn’t get into Sierra or ARC which leaves me with Delta as my last chance. I wish we didn’t have to wait 3 more weeks to find out if we got in or not. I’ve seen some people make comments about trying to get in for years and that scares me.

Yeah I don’t don’t to drive to Delta for an hour and 15 each day. I have a small kid. If they accept me I will deny my spot. I applied with 81 points so I have a good chance.

Im going to try my luck with Chamberlain, it’s right by my house. It’s around 50k but I can’t wait anymore I’m 32 years old and have to plan my career. I can’t be waiting on these random games.

I agree, it might be worth it to take out a loan and attend a private school. I don’t have a child, but I’m 27 and want to finish the program so I can start my career. If I don’t get accepted into Delta, that’s most likely what I’ll do.

I thought I had 78 points, but I miscalculated, I only have 76 so my chances are lower than I thought. You’ll definitely get accepted with your points. I hope I at least get on the alternate list.

Hey guys, so I took anatomy at mjc 5 years ago and recieved a B, if I take Anatomy at a different college and get an A, could I use the A without any point deductions?

No, they take your first passing score. So if you got a B, they will take that grade because it’s your first passing grade. So, don’t bother retaking.

Really? If that’s the case I apologize for giving out incorrect info. Criterion 2C, “repeats” says -5 points for 2 repeats, but lists no penalty for a single repeat, which led me to believe you were allowed to repeat one class as a freebie. But I could be wrong cause the sole fact that you’re not penalized for the repeat doesn’t mean they’ll necessarily accept the repeated course either.

I never looked into it any further since I wasn't applying with repeated courses.

Has anyone else gotten an email from Delta saying their prerequisites were being evaluated? I saw someone else got an email last week and I haven’t gotten one so it’s making me a little nervous.

No email like that on my end.

Does anyone know what the schedule looks like with clinicals as well as their sites?

How did you guys submit your course descriptions? I did not print a cover page if catalog. I just printed the page that had my class. This page has the year and name of college I took the class at. Is this enough? I just read that you were suppose to also print a cover page? I don’t think I remember see that instruction from Delta. Anyone knows?

You didn't have to submit a cover page.

This is what the ADN supporting documents checklist states, "I have attached COURSE DESCRIPTIONS for ALL prerequisites NOT COMPLETED at San Joaquin Delta College for the purpose of determining course equivalency. The course descriptions must come from the specific catalog year in which the course was taken".

I only printed out the page containing the course description because it showed the catalog year as well as the school it was from. I highlighted the year, the school, and the name of the course.

Oh, good! I only highlighted the course itself.

Hey guys, I am not applying for this semester since I still have a pre-req in progress that won't be done until mid May, but I plan to apply for Spring 2020. I was reading the Spring 2019 thread and the point cut off seemed to be around 66 points for that semester. Also, a person with 65.5 points was #2 on the waitlist and they accepted at least 6 alternates.

How much higher do you think the point cut off will go? I have 73.5 points currently for Delta, but I plan to retake my TEAS to get more points.
