San Joaquin Delta College ADN Fall 2014

Published

Hi friends, my name is John. I'm new here and wanted to start a thread for those applying for the Fall 2014 admission at SJDC. I've read similar threads about past classes and found them interesting and informative.

I just finished up Physiology (still nervously waiting for my grade) and I'll be taking the TEAS at Modesto JC on 12/20. After that I'll be putting together my application!

I just noticed on Delta's ADN site that the TEAS will be offered at the Stockton campus the second week of January. Still no information on when the actual application period is going to be.

Anybody else want to share any thoughts, concerns, rumors, or advice?

I'm trying to transfer to a program near Modesto and trying to get in contact with Delta. I'm currently in an ADN program in the San Diego area and got disqualified from any type of loans and only have enough for the first semester. I'll by applying to get in the second-semester of Fall 2014 at Delta and a few other Modesto area colleges. I'm from Modesto and only the southern schools accepted me when I applied figured its not a waste of time if I can transfer to a school near home where I can stay with parents and not have to work as much to pay for expenses.[/quote']

Best of luck; I'm at Pasadena City College and we have a transfer student in second semester. From what I understand it's unprecedented... Be prepared to make the best case of your life! Are you at a private school or a community college?

"As for the 1st generation to attend college, you would write a statement in the form provided on the application. It is on a link"

All we have to do is fill out a paper and explain our situation. This is what I was told to do.

Any luck with a response in regards to the first generation supporting documentation? I sent an email too, but have not heard back. I know I'm first generation, but I just want to make sure I have the correct supporting documentation they need. I'm just worried that if I don't then they will disqualify my whole app:(

hey I talked to my friend and I am not sure what the cut off was last cohort but the last person to get into the program as alternate 12 and she had a total of 63 points....but it is different every time so who knows what it will be this time.

Hi, everybody I will be applying to the fall 2014 semester as well. Does anybody know what was the cut off score for the points last semester?

Thanks.

Okay thanks. Your right the points vary every semester. I turned in my application and I have about 60 points. Let's see how it goes.. Good luck to you!

MirnaMarlene, good to hear you got that sorted out. Hopefully putting in the extra effort to figure that out and bump up your points will help you get accepted. Good luck :)

thank you :) and good luck to you too !

Okay, I sumbitted my application, and the waiting starts:nailbiting: Good luck to us all!!

Hi Everyone!

I just submitted my application. If you guys don't mind sharing, how many points did everyone earn? If my calculations are correct,

AA/AS degree = 2.5 points

GPA in science = 33 points (2 A's, 1 B)

GPA in eng/nutri = 10 points ( all A's)

special circumstances = 2.5 points

other language = 2.5 points

teas = i scored 80.7 so i don't know if they're going to round it up so we'll say 19 or 20 points

so I am going in with 69.5 to 70.5

I hope that's enough to get in, of course with supporting documentation. good luck everyone!

A.S. - 2.5

Science GPA - 40

Eng/Nutr GPA - 6 (booo)

TEAS - 30

Total - 78.5

I skipped out on the need for work and spanish extra points for fear of being disqualified due to suspect documentation. I think I should be ok with the points I have but I can't help being nervous anyway!

Best wishes to everybody!

I submitted my application !:nailbiting: you all have a pretty high score ! mines is a little lower but I think it should be enough (crossing my fingers !)

AA/AS- 2.5pts

Science GPA - 21pts (:banghead: I have a C in anatomy because I was young and stupid ! and didn't take the class seriously. B in physiology and A in gen micro)

GPA for nutrition and English- 10pts

special circumstances - 2.5pts

language proficiency - 2.5pts

TEAS- 28 pts.

My total is 66.5

Good luck to you all ! I hope to hear from you guys when notifications get sent out !
