San Joaquin Delta College ADN Fall 2014

Published

Hi friends, my name is John. I'm new here and wanted to start a thread for those applying for the Fall 2014 admission at SJDC. I've read similar threads about past classes and found them interesting and informative.

I just finished up Physiology (still nervously waiting for my grade) and I'll be taking the TEAS at Modesto JC on 12/20. After that I'll be putting together my application!

I just noticed on Delta's ADN site that the TEAS will be offered at the Stockton campus the second week of January. Still no information on when the actual application period is going to be.

Anybody else want to share any thoughts, concerns, rumors, or advice?

Yea your right Mirna it gives us time to save. And yes I'm right there with you, I will have to save or figure something out, but if I get in I will make that happen some way or another lol and yes I was interested in getting a loan just haven't really researched it. I heard there was a deadline too, do you know anything about that??? Oh and do you know about the whole teas transcript thing? I took it at sac state and requested they send it to Delta. That's all we have to do right? Just document that on packet when we turn it in? I wanted to turn in my packet today.

Can someone help clarify course descriptions for me? I've read in previous posts that for course descriptions, we should print the cover of the course catalog pertaining to the school and year we took our prereq, as well as the course description for that class? Sorry, first time I've ever been asked to submit course descriptions. Thanks!

That's exactly what the nursing counselor told me last time I talked to her, so yeah, sounds right to me.

Yes we HAVE to make it happen lol one way or another. No I actually didn't know about the deadline, thank you for pointing that out. I haven't received FA in a long, long time so I am actually applying for it tomorrow to see if I could maybe qualify for a Loan through that. I don't really know about the TEAS transcript because the only two times that I took them was at Delta so I didn't have to do anything for that. You can Email the health science department for questions they usually email you back the same day or the next here is the website : [email protected]

Thanks! I was able to access the course catalogs online at CSU Sacramento since I took two of my prereq there. Since it was online and the most current catalog, there was no year indication on the index or anything. But when I printed out the course descriptions, the year and school was printed on the top of the paper so I hope that's okay too.

Hey I am working on my paragraph for the supporting documentation for being first generation to attend college.. If you don't mind me asking what are you writing in your paragraph? How specific does this need to be ?? I don't really know what else to put besides that my parents didn't go to college because they couldn't afford it

Okay, I sumbitted my application, and the waiting starts:nailbiting: Good luck to us all!!

I just put that both my parents did not attend college, and had provided where they had received their high school diploma and GED. I also mentioned that I did have two older brothers and that they did not attend college either, but did graduate high school, and I did provide the reason as to why my parents did not further their education. I hope that was enough for them.

Specializes in Cardiac Telemetry.

I'm at a community college. I have a friend that was able to transfer to Modesto Junior College's program which is the main school I would like to transfer to and she said its doable if the curriculum is similar enough and if there is space second semester. So far from what I've seen I should be good to transfer if there is room, but I might have to take a pharmacology class over the summer because the program I'm in integrates their pharmacology over the first year instead of taking a separate 2 unit course first semester like they do at Modesto Junior College.

thank you!

I just dropped off my supporting documentation! I thought I would share this :) Do you guys know when we will here back from them?

It says by 4/2, they should have the final rankings but from reading the past threads, I would assume they might get us to later than 4/2.
