San Joaquin Delta College ADN Fall 2014

Published

Hi friends, my name is John. I'm new here and wanted to start a thread for those applying for the Fall 2014 admission at SJDC. I've read similar threads about past classes and found them interesting and informative.

I just finished up Physiology (still nervously waiting for my grade) and I'll be taking the TEAS at Modesto JC on 12/20. After that I'll be putting together my application!

I just noticed on Delta's ADN site that the TEAS will be offered at the Stockton campus the second week of January. Still no information on when the actual application period is going to be.

Anybody else want to share any thoughts, concerns, rumors, or advice?

Im also a 1st semester student. I was one of the people who took Eng33 and regret, regret, regret it. The assignments are all online, super easy, but they do take time away from more important things......Like reading!!! There is a TON of reading. Dont underestimate the reading. The Eng 33 class does give you full time status and it was nice to hear from the guest speakers, but if I could rewind time I would not have registered for it. Out of 40 people in our cohort, 30 people took the class. It was a great way to get familiar with everyone before school started, but our Facebook page pretty much did that for us anyways.

As for Prep U. It is the most wonderful thing ever!!! Its basically a ton of Nclex style tests questions regarding the fundamentals chapters. The questions get more in depth as you rank up. The first 9 weeks I got up to 2,000 questions. DO PREP U! Its not required, but its the best way to study. I got an A in the course and relied heavily on Prep U. It gives great rationale for the answers to the questions whether right or wrong.

Think maybe you are an alternate?? Our semester took 13 alternates. I know that is always a big question. The last alternate was called the night before school started. I believe the minimum points ended up being about 64.

Good Luck!

thanks nurswn2b and gamerchick209 for the help and advice I will definitely follow it. And when I calculated my total points I had a 66.5...Its not the best score but I hope it will be enough to either get a spot in the program or alternate list. You probably know my friends two of them started last semester.

Hi everyone!! Well Tuesday is the big day! I'm extremely nervous and anxious to find out my ranking. Hopefully Delta doesn't postpone the date again.

Anyone else from Sacramento?

Today is the day ! Hopefully rankings are posted today ! :)

Did you notice that the Delta website is down right now? I have been trying to login to my email and it is not letting me. Must mean they are updating something :)

I noticed that... Ahhh the stress of waiting! I'm so nervous:nailbiting:

Good luck everyone. I hope we all get accepted and hopefully no delays :)

Aaaahhh !!!! Yes you are probably right !I hope we get a spot in the program !

OK -- So being the impatient person that I am, I called the Health Science Department and the nice lady informed me that the rankings were supposed to be up this morning but there is a glitch in the system and they are diligently working on it as we speak. They hope to have the rankings posted this afternoon and if not, they will for sure be up first thing tomorrow morning.

Thank you for letting us know !
