Hi friends, my name is John. I'm new here and wanted to start a thread for those applying for the Fall 2014 admission at SJDC. I've read similar threads about past classes and found them interesting and informative.
I just finished up Physiology (still nervously waiting for my grade) and I'll be taking the TEAS at Modesto JC on 12/20. After that I'll be putting together my application!
I just noticed on Delta's ADN site that the TEAS will be offered at the Stockton campus the second week of January. Still no information on when the actual application period is going to be.
Anybody else want to share any thoughts, concerns, rumors, or advice?
About the supporting documents: Can someone clarify this for me, Under Criterion 1D: current licensed healthcare worker w/ direct patient care....
it is asking for a copy of my current license, it doesn't say specifically for a document of proof for the 200 hrs of volunteer exp.
Should I send it anyway? I have a certificate stating I have 240 hrs of extern exp. from the school I attended, would that be enough? Should I get a letter from my supervisor? I'm not sure if I even need it... Better be safe than sorry, right? It will be hard to track down the supervisor though.
For the 200 hours of volunteer experience, I believe they have to be done with direct patient care. If you have some type of proof that shows you have direct patient care, you should sent it. The best thing to do is call the Allied Health Office about any important questions like this. They are very helpful.
Hi everyone! Congrats to the two new students in the group that got accepted!! That is very exciting news. I set up a FB page since the question kept coming up and I've read that students have done this in the past. Just search SJDC ADN Fall 2014 and you'll find it. Maybe this will help us communicate faster when we have a question.
Oh and don't forget we can check our registration dates on Monday!!
Thanks :) and congratulations to the students that got a spot !!! i think it's safe to say you guys are in as long as all of the supporting documentation is correct !!! so double check everything :)

Well.... You're just scaring me now! I've been working on getting in somewhere for 3 years now, this is my second time applying with SJDC. If I don't get in this time, I will retake my teas, all my other pts are really good, I have A's in all sciences except for physio (B) and English (B). I only got 78 on my teas though :/ (I messed up my scantron about 1/2 way through the math section *DOH*!
I was just looking at the schedule, what's the deal with the 6:30 am class?
when they called or emailed you did they say they had a spot for you? or did they just ask for documentation? because i thought that all applicants that were either in or alternates had to submit paperwork at the same time... You will probably have no choice in what clinical site or instructor you get because you will have a later registration date :/ but hey that's ok as long as you are in the program right? lol This was also my second time applying to Delta i had to retake my teas and an English class and it made all the difference..its crazy what a small number of points can do. I don't mean to scare you but they are very meticulous about paperwork so just make sure you submit everything they as you for, if you arent sure of something call the health and sciences department they are very helpful!

Yeah Im wondering this too, it already costs like 25 bucks to send in the TEAS V results and 10 bucks to send a transcript lol but its a small price to pay for a chance to get in.
I actually applied to transfer from another program, but ended up dropping out due to financial reasons but if I can get a chance to start over again close to home I'm definitely taking it.
