San Jacinto College ADN Spring 2011

So I was wondering, who is applying for the spring? Couldn't find a forum, so I thought I'd start one. Got the application and was a little freaked out that they decided to change their criteria this semester, but all is well. Good luck to all :)

How has the program been for you so far? I got accepted to Alvin, still waiting to hear about San Jac, but I'm curious as to how things are for you guys that just finished semester 1.

It was good! It went by SUPER fast for me! The last 4 weeks were the most difficult, but I got through it & made good grades. I've heard Alvin has a really good program, but I'm not sure how they compare to San Jac! That's awesome that you were accepted. When are you suppose to hear from San Jac?

I think SJ is posting in mid June or early July.

Oh ok! Does Alvin require uniforms like San Jac? I would def compare what the cost are!

yes, not sure if you have to wear them for classes or just clinicals though. uniforms at alvin are $54.xx per set (a set is the lab coat, top and pants with school patches sewn on)

oh wow that's kind of expensive. Ours were $25 a set if I remember correctly. We had to have 2 sets for school & 2 sets for clinicals plus a lab coat. It cost me $420 for the uniforms, lab supplies, & stethoscope. I did however purchase the most expensive stethoscope & it was $80.

really? the most expensive was only $80? What kind did you get? I just bought mine, Littman Classic II for $70

yes I believe that's the same one I got. Mine is the Littmann classic II S.E. the cheaper one of that was the lightweight version of the Littmann.

Yeah, I got the S.E also. The lightweight was not in our options. However, the one that we have is actually pretty light! :)

OK. Thank you. I received my acceptance letter from Lee College on May 31, 2011. I think I'm going there instead since it's walking distance for me. Good luck everyone :)
