Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

Yea, there's hope after all!!!!!

I agree. This is much much more manageable than everything we thought we might have. 11 questions dedicated solely to terminology is awesome. These chapters were fairly easy to understand (for me oviously), so I think it's really on par with exam 1 in terms of sheer difficulty.

I'm going to be a happy panda for the rest of this week : D

Well I'm not as comfortable as you are about this test, but I am glad we're going over ch 46 tomorrow since they're 8 questions on the test from that ch.

See you at 7:30 am

I think we'll be fine. I'll continue to be the voice of optimism (definitely not the voice of reason. Gotta be sane to be that.

Also, sadness about Patrick Swayze. Though I think he won in the sense that he lived for 20 months with it. That seems like a long time with such a deadly cancer.

My brain is overloaded!!! I am unsure if I will be able to cram 4 more chapter in there by Friday!

I know how you feel Barbara! My strategy is to focus on the info that **** stresses and then to apply it to the situations in the book. I've made notecards covering chs 10-15, 45 & 29 so I can start commiting it to memory. Fortunately, there are only a few questions from 17-19.

I've been doing the MNL. Kind of helps. Still going to review the major points of each chapter. Worked for me on the first one, so here's hoping I can repeat the magic : D

I have been doing the MNL too. You are right, it does seem to help. I am so looking forward to Friday afternoon. Did y'all get through Chapter 46? We did not start it. We ran out of time so we will be doing it tomorrow.

We're the same. Tomorrow we practice vitals on each other and then hopefully get to pain. We're actually not behind in lecture for once! Yay! : )

Yes, we are behind according to the calendar, but I'm not worried about chs 17-19. I hope I can figure out the bp cuff tomorrow.

The bp cuff is going to take some practice for me. I am sure we will be comfortable with it in no time. I am going to get a couple of hours of practice in the lab on Friday after the test.

I would practice with the BP cuff as much as humanly possible. I've been telling people this from day one because for some people, it's a hard thing to figure out. When you do it enough times, you'll feel like a pro.

And if you think it's still challenging, well, I have something to tell you that will make oyu change your mind : D

Try taking pulse and BP in the back of an ambulance doing 50 down the feeders. You won't think it's challenging then : ) I have faith that everybody will be as proficient as the 10 year veteran nurses.
