Hey guys- 1st off congrats to all of you who have started the program :) I do have a couple of questions. Do you recommend/ don't recommend any teachers for the prereq's esp. Micro? I have my A&P I and II from a different college so I can't use those :( Also did you have any or most of your coreq's completed? Do they transfer in from a different campus...like the Psych & Pharm?

Thanks a bunch!!!

Mrs. ****** told us that the blueprint will be posted each Monday before the Friday test. She said that it is the earliest that Mrs. ****** would allow her to post it. Also, she said that there will be 65 questions on the test...55 from the foundations chapters and 10 from Chapter 1 medical terminology.

Howdy! A&P instructors that I would not recommend would probably have to be **** (I think that's his name). I've heard plenty of negative things from people who took his classes. It's really up to you what teacher you do take, because they're all practically the same, save for teaching styles obviously.

Micro, there's 1 teacher you're going to be recommended, and that is Mr. ************. If you can, get in his class, as he is simply one of the best instructors. And another plus is you can take him for A&P 1 and 2.

I had all of my pre-req's done before I started, but I know of some people who still have 1 or 2 left. As for transferring, that you would need to talk to I believe the counselors. I'm not sure though. Hope this helps.

I recommend Mrs. ****** for micro at the south campus and Dr. ******** for A&P I and II at south also. The lab facilities at the south are far superior to those at central because south receives more funding than central.

So we're being tested over medical terminlogy or math for meds?

My psych class transferred but I've told that they won't accept pharmacology from other campuses.

She speaks the truth. Centrals labs are.............horrid to say the least.

Both. Remember when they said there would be medical terminology on the test?

Hey everyone...thanks for making fun of my red face lol. I forgot to say I was changing my gloves but Mrs.****** wasn't really picky on that stuff. I haven't looked at chapter 15 in the math for meds book but I will tonight and I can help anyone since I do that for a living. I didn't know that medical terminology was going to be on the test either...great more stuff we have to study for..that book is boring too.

Well, if you could see my face, then it would have probably been red too. It was way too hot in there. Even for me, the dude who grew up in the freaking desert.

I know I forgot to do certain things, but it seemed like they were ready to stop watching amateurs (referring to myself and those who don't change beds for a living) do this simplistic stuff. Can't say I blame them.

I still felt the heat for like an hour after it was over.

I got ******* and it seemed every glove change, temp check, water change I went through he wasn't looking. He only said I was slow, but I don't think I used up the whole 30 min.

Oh well, glad I got one down. Scary Hearing "You Fail"

This math is so repetitive,

Yeah he was kinda rude about it when he said that....making people cry and stuff. Makes you think about what the future one's will be like since this was an easy one. It's not fair to the people who got him and failed because their instructor may have not been that picky like he was. Failing people on handwashing? Come on

The math IS repetitive. I wanted to strangle my book after doing 12.

I also agree that failing people on handwashing is absolutely ridiculous. I realize that we have to hold ourselves to a high standard, but when they beat you down over nitpicky stuff (which this is, don't even try to argue it) then you make people doubt themselves, which is much worse than what they messed up in the first place.

Oy, I ranted. I'll try to stop that in the future : )

Thanks a bunch for the replies. I already have A&P I & II and both are A's (phew) I am going to be applying for Fall 2010 as I am also appying to an ultrasound program as well. For Spring I have scheduled to take Micro/College Algebra/ and the Technical Writing. I hope I can manage. I have my CNA cert. from Central so I think I am going to try to continue taking my classes there. How are you guys managing it all? Is anyone trying to work while in the program? I don't work but i do have 3 kids so I am a lil worried about it. Do they use a point or bonus system at San Jac?
