San Jacinto ADN Spring 2012

Anyone applying for the spring semester!!

Emmasmom03 is right! You will save a ton of money renting or buying used. I generally purchase from Chegg.com, and you can rent, buy NEW, and USED with them. The reason I buy new, is because you never know what you are going to get when you rent or purchase used books online. I don't have the ability to flip through a used book to see the extent of markings/highlations that are in the book so I'd rather not take that chance. As for renting, I can't fathom the idea of paying for something that I'm not gonna keep either. I plan to keep all my books to study for the NCLEX at the end. It's totally up to you on what you decide to do.

The day I purchased my books from Chegg, I did a comparison b/w New and USED and I think I would have saved $100 if I would have purchased USED. If you want to save a lot, I would say RENT!!!!! You can't beat rental prices!!!!

Ok, thanks. I've done the price comparisons from the book store and Amazon, and the savings just from those two places is about $800. I haven't done my research on New and Used though. The book store is not even an option to me since it is so expensive.

My decision is between New and Used at this point. But, if I rent, I will definitely want to buy at the end of the semester. I want to have my books for future references. I just need to do a little more research. :)

I use College book renter. I like it because I can rent and then if I decide I want to keep it I just pay the difference. I have had no issues with the quality of the books. They have all been very good and all of my nursing books came with the CD's as well.

Can someone do me a big favor and post the list of textbooks we need for this first semester? I still have not been able to get into ANY of my classes and thus cannot get into blackboard! I can't wait until the office opens up this Tuesday so I can get everything sorted out!

Were you enrolled last semester? If not you may need to re-enroll to the school. I had to do that as I originally applied in the fall and did not take classes there. The book list is not on blackboard. It is in SOS and it is a long list.

yeah, i did re-enroll, but when i try to register it says that i can't due to "program restriction" and "rnursing dept appr rqrd." i can't seem to find the book list on sos... where did you find it?

Maybe it shows up when you register?

I had a question about the shoes we need. I know we need ALL WHITE LEATHER shoes however, is that only for clinical or classroom or for both? I remember he said something about black as well, however I wasn't sure which class the black shoes were for. I would rather just buy one color and use them for both if I can. Any thoughts?

yes, he suggested to wear white shoes for both so we won't get confused. we could wear either white or black for classes

and man i was only able to buy the first book and lab manual. I found it was cheaper if i purchased them separate on amazon. i am going to be so broke. Can financial aid come a little bit early this semester??!
