San Jac Central ADN Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for those who plan on applying to San Jac Central's ADN Program for Fall 2017. I know applications aren't being accepted yet, hopefully they'll post dates soon, it says "to be announced" on one protion of the website, and then it says Feb 2-April 2 on another portion.

As for me, I'm eager and ready, done with all prereqs and my Hesi. Here are my scores:

Comp I: C (Failed it years ago and retook recently and made an A)

Psychology: A

AP1: B

AP2: A

Micro: B

Overall GPA 3.22

Hesi A2 Exam: 89.6% overall, planning to retake the exam to see if I can do even better.

How did everyone do? Best of luck, hopefully we will be studying together come August!

I also plan to apply to Alvin but doubt I'll get in because they are so selective.

I am applying too, but I am extremely nervous. Below are my scores....

GPA 3.7

Hesi 84

Does anyone know how many students get accepted into the program?

Just wanted to wish you guys all good luck this part is the worse lol i am a north ADN student but i applied both north and central. For central i turned in my application june 1st but didnt hear from them until late October. I ended up choosing north because its soo close to my house. Also they are much more responsive than central was in my experience. Central usually accepts around 90 to 100 and north its alot less my cohort has 16 people but on avg its about 20 or less that are accepted Anyways good luck everyone.

Thank you for the kind words nancydhernandez89! If you don't mind sharing what your rubric score was that you got into both locations? Thanks again for the kind words!

Mine overall score was 18 because i had to repeat micro otherwise would have been a 20

I guess I'll join in on the discussion. Filling out the application this week, just waiting to gather all my medical info such as titers and immunizations. I've applied to 3 BSN programs, but am also applying to both San Jac and ACC. I have every course imaginable due to various requirements from different schools, so now it's just a matter of finding somewhere that will accept me. According to their rubric I have 22 or 23 points dependent upon what my cumulative GPA ends up being. I've attended 5 colleges/universities, so I'll let them do all the calculating. Hesi score is a 93.5.

Hi Nancy! Can you tell me how your experience in the ADN program is going? I have not been hearing great things about San Jac's program and am feeling disheartened. I know you attend North and I applied to central but have been trying to find anyone who is an ADN student for some feedback!

My rubric score is a 22 out of the possible 27 but will be raised once I complete micro in a few weeks. Let's all keep each other posted on acceptance! The deadline is almost here! :)

I cant speak for central but i love north campus our professors so far have been nice and very supportive. I am in the first semester and its been a positive experience

That's wonderful to hear, Nancy! Best of luck to you in your nursing journey!

Hi everyone! First of all I wanna say good luck to everyone on your first nursing journey. I'm currently student nurse at San Jac Central campus for ADN program and will graduate in May 2017. They usually accept around 80 applications/ semester. Nursing school is not easy but trust me, it will worth it in the end. Goodluck everyone!!

It's great to hear from an actual San Jac central student! Can you please tell me how your experience as a student in their program has been? The few that I've spoken with say that they are not pleased and wish they had gone elsewhere. í ½í¸¬ Am hopeful that I might hear otherwise!

I would just like to say that San Jac was a great school for me. I learned a lot and got a job right away. Getting in is not easy, but staying in is even harder. I went to Central as I graduated three years ago and it was the only ADN program at San Jac back then.

Good luck to everyone as well! I live in Pearland and will be checking out various schools soon.
