San Francisco State University (SFSU) Spring 2025 BSN Program

Published

Hello everyone, I wanted to make a forum for us applying to SFSU's Spring 2025 cohort for the BSN program to hopefully discuss the application and maybe some other questions we have. It might be helpful for us and future applicants as well!

Hi all, my SFSU Gateway status changed from 'Under Review' to 'Applicant.’ Does anyone know what that means? Has yours changed as well?  Thanks!

OMG, why is it taking so long to get updated?!! 😞 Did you receive a recommendation email from the SF State Nursing Department as well?

I knoww, I hope by next week it will update. I got a recommendation email that had the Google form linked to it to accept admission so I just used that to accept 😭

I hope it updates by next week too! 😭 I accepted through the Google form, but I still don't have an official letter. My gateway says 'applicant’—not even under review! At this rate, it feels like my application is going backward instead of forward! I'm worried it'll change to "planning to apply" by next week! Lmao

Hi all,

My gateway currently says "your application is currently under review by the impacted major department that you have applied to." and this was last updated on 8/20. Still no emails from them but only tease emails about financial aid and touring :( any advice

For reference, my portal says "Spring 2025 - Applicant" and "Nursing | Undergraduate"

hey everyone! I just wanted to see if anyone who has gotten their acceptance letter can reply to my message really quick telling me their stats, these are mine:

4.0 GPA in science and other pre-requisites, one A- in statistics, 95.3% on TEAS, 50-100 hours experience, currently MA certified and working, BSL certified and volunteered at sutter hospital in med surg, ICU and ER.

I still haven't gotten any letters and freaking out and hoping the people who got their letter can give me their stats so I can compare, thank you!!

I got 3.97 overall GPA, a 3.87 science GPA (B in chemistry very terrible teacher), 90.7 on the TEAS, with almost 5,000 hours of experience as an emt. Also considered a local student.

If I got in you can too. Only place you didn't do better than me is experience. It seems them sending out the letters was kind of sporadic. I think the personal statement questions are important. It's kind of hard to know exactly why programs pick one student or the other. I know I got waitlisted at East Bay and when I asked where I could improve my application there was an issue with the form for healthcare experience which your employer has to fill out. So I lost points on that and ended up on the waitlist at east bay because of it and it sucks because I lost points on something beyond my control and that is the school I preferred.
