Samuel Merritt University (SMU) ABSN Summer 2024

Hi all! Wanted to start a discussion for those who applied for Summer 2024 cohorts at Samuel Merritt so we can support each other. I applied to the Oakland and San Mateo campuses. I'm also excited to hear back if I got in to the Nursing Success Seminar January 2024 program.

Lab days are always in person. Currently, most profs are doing online lectures (a combination of synchronous Zoom, aka your prof is there, and pre-recorded lectures you have to watch on your own). However, SFP soft return to in-person learning is April, which means online vs. in-person is at the professor's discretion. Official return to in-person is late August so definitely expect to be onsite once a week for class since lectures are stacked on the same day, plus one day for lab.

When you click letter of intent, it makes me sign in. What credentials did you guys use? Is it the same ones for the admitted student portal?

Has your payment of $350 been updated yet? I'm all nervous 🙃

Hi, question! Did you have to type the 350 manually and submit it? I wanna make sure I'm doing it correctly. I can see tuition deposit on the commerce.cashnet website for SMU but nothing shows a 350 payment specifically. Thanks!

I got an email saying I was denied admission for the June start date, but when I log into the student portal it went from saying "your application is being reviewed" to "Congratulations! Your application is under review" ..... not sure what to trust at this point. Any thoughts?

Hi!! Do any of admitted students for this co hort want to start a facebook page of some sort? I've seen past discussion where they were able to do that! Im not sure how to do it but if anyone wants to that would be really cool :)

To create a special place for your cohort:

1.   Create a student "Club" for your cohort by clicking on the "Breakroom/Clubs" link under "Communities" at the top of any page in the upper left on desktop or "Breakroom" under "SpecialSections" in the upper right on mobile.

2.   Click "Start a Breakroom Club".

3.   Invite members at your discretion.

You may post social or mobile application links once in a private group. Keep in mind, clubs will not be moderated, unless a member reports an issue.

I would shoot the admissions counselor an email, or give them a call
